In a liberal's mind, they protect innocent victims from oppressive white men

I am not sure what defines a liberal - I think there is a spectrum of thinking. I think a balanced pragmatic approach is always best.

I feel like conservatives have become so absolutist and ideological that anyone who doesn't agree with them is a "liberal".

 

Why can't you oppressive white men just chill for once?

 

I like this game.

Conservatives are always living in fear of being victimized. Pretty much all of their ideas come back to this crippling fear that "others" are trying to hurt them in some way. They want to stop Obama from taking over half of their paycheck even though taxes today are lower than they were in the glory days of the Reagan 80's.

They want full auto machine guns to protect them from the government when it takes over even though they comprise a huge chunk of the military and there's really no way the American military would go along with some end of the world take over of the country at the behest of liburuls.

They also want machine guns to protect them from blacks and Mexicans who want nothing more than to break into their homes, steal all the stuff they worked hard for, and I guess rape their women.

They want the government to protect them from gay marriage because if gay marriage happens, it will hurt straight aka regular marriage because logic.

They want the government to protect their religion by teaching the bible in school instead of science because screw science and facts.

They want the government to protect them from Mosques by preventing them from being built because all Muslins are terrorists.



BTW, I would never say that white men are looking to oppress everybody, but this government shut down is only happening because of republican reps from gerrymandered districts that became majority white after redistricting.

Conservative white men have such a glorious history of advocating fair play and equality in this country. Can't imagine why anyone would be suspicious of their motives.

 

Kid, please don't tug on other people's beards just for provocation's sake, which I believe is the whole point of your thread. We have enough animosity in this forum without looking for an extra serving.

Rail against some specific Obama / Democratic sin -- that's easy enough to do. But fight the good fight because it is a good fight, not just a playground rumble.

It's hard to take any of you guys seriously---your side seems to be starting a bunch of "liberals this" and "liberals that" threads lately---except you actually seem to believe this stuff you post.

I'm reminded of the Navy. Stationed in Italy, working for the military police. We got a new Senior Chief one day and he established something of a SWAT-type team which would respond to crises on our NATO base. Naturally this involved taking volunteers out of the work sections so that while we had work to do we were short-handed so they could train in something that we would never, ever need. We were in the middle of Mafia country. No one was gonna mess with the American base and the money we represented. But Senior Chief needed his Swat team so he could put it on his resume and make Master Chief.

I remember going over to deliver a message to someone in the "crisis response team" as they had a class. I paused before interrupting to watch this b.s. swat team during a classroom with Senior Chief. They sat there in rapture as he spoke. RAPTURE. I listened to him for a second and thought, Does anyone really buy into this rah-rah crap?

It's the picture I'm getting here. Big_texxx as teacher, and all you sycophants who can't bother to think for yourselves (although you believe otherwise) gathered around him, all with your catch-all beliefs in what liberals believe and think.

Extremist Republicans and extremist Liberals are equally ****ty, but it seems to me that extremist Republicans have a firmer grip on that party than extremist liberals do.
