let's all guess at what point in time Matty throws his weekly Pick 6? I don't think he's thrown a pick 6 in the 3rd quarter yet, so i'm thinking it happens there. It'll probably be close at half, but after the Niners get the ball to start the 2nd half and march down the field for a TD, I'm thinking they cash in their pick 6 on the Texans next series to put the game out of reach.
If Vernon Davis is healthy, he will torch. The 49ers offense has been pretty inconsistent. I think Gore may have a big game. I can see this being close, but it the defense for 49ers scores any points, it's the 49ers game to lose. At least now there will be another game on SNF just in case the Texans embarrass themselves (Chargers@Raiders).
Definitely have a great chance to win but then there goes that primetime slot again...Hopefully Schaub steps it up.
Just wanted to point out that amid all the mass hysteria, the Texans are #6 in total offense and #1 in total defense through the first four games. Just fix a couple of mistakes and this team will be fine. Now back to your regularly scheduled cliff jumping.
The Niners have been shaky, but I feel like they've got a better talent pool on both sides of the ball. A friend of mine in Houston and I have a bet going, but it's just about Schlob and pick sixes. He is betting on one, and I am betting that Schlob ends his amazing streak and throws NO pick sixes this game. Picks, yes, but not returned for a TD.
The 49ers really lack offensive weapons right now. I can see this game being ugly, with neither coach wanting to take high-risk / high-reward plays, and sticking to trying to establish the ground game.
i was surprised by the way our defense "manhandled" seattle. i'm going with a win this weekend. i just realized this game is in San Fran. i change my vote. loss.
The Texans need a win. They need to stop the bleeding. They need to prove that they can close out a game. They need to prove they can beat a good team on the road (and at home). And Schaub needs to go one game, just one, just one ####ing game without throwing a TD for the other team. That's not too much to ask for, is it? The Texans win. They have to win. They have no choice but to win.
Reason why I'm not worried, like other Texans fans who are calling for people's heads, is that the Texans aren't playing with full strength. Duane Brown is imperative for this team, and they WILL win this game if they are at full strength. Even if he isn't back, the absence of Aldon Smith can make the game easier for Schaub. Texans fans will cause a riot around town if they lose this game (which isn't necessarily a bad thing since it's 49ers after all), but I do like the Texans' chances in this game. I'm picking them to win.
SF is trending down as much as we are to be honest. But so is BAL and look what they did to us. Special Teams will be the factor, if we don't screw up we can win. If they play like they've been playing all year, excluding Lechler, we'll lose.
If I'm Phillips I use someone other than Merciless to spy their QB for the first quarter or so. Pretend Merciless will be the spy for a few plays then blitz him. Let Ed Reed spy him on rushing downs. Let Brooks Reed play some spy. Mix it up. Keep them guessing. Blitz.
