Like I said before. Forget the stats, look at what he is and what he was. Same Schaub from day one, just older.
Wow someone that actually saw what I was seeing back then also. Same guy, just now his limitations and flaws are magnified, because we are suppose to be a SuperBowl team...
Yeah I don't think he's the same. He actually seems slower and weaker this year. Can no longer support a guy who plays like that. Never thought he was elite, but I thought he was above average and good. But not since the first half of last year. I read some speculation that he never recovered from his lis franc injury. Or maybe he's just old.
Excellent post. Actually gives me some hope that the organization is just not completely clueless. I have a feeling that this could get really ugly quick. Schaub getting knocked out of a game (but not hurt permanently) could give the Texans a way of saving face and trying an option (Keenum would be my choice). Otherwise, rough waters ahead.
This. If an upgrade were available that wouldn't cost us some of our stars, I wouldn't mind change. Would be great if one of the clip board holders can contribute.

Its getting to his mind and I don't think he's mentally tough to over come it. He's damaged goods, Texans need to just move on after the season
Hopefully he didn't delete his Twitter due to death threats or something. I've never had a Twitter so I don't know how difficult it would be to part with it.
I never though Schaub was anything better than a slightly better than average QB. Never called him elite, etc. Not a big fan of his right now..... I always found myself coming to his defense because I hate the dull, knee-jerk "SCHAUB SUCKS!!!!!!!1111" posts around here that are turning the Texans forum into an ESPN board. Only thing worse is the "I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!111" posts, which I'm glad I missed out on, being out of town this weekend.
Yeah same here. Problem is, since the 2nd half of last year he truly has sucked. Before that, he was good.
Schaub will probably hold on to his job until the Texans are officially eliminated from the playoffs, no matter how badly he plays. However, if the Texans are eliminated, they should bench Schaub and gives Yates and Keenum a look, so they can determine if they need to draft a QB.
The signs were there at the end of last season. This was a major topic of discussion during the offseason, and a few posters did everything they could to labels his critics as being reactionary. Now they want us to believe that this is a completely different Schaub. That's BS. This is not a different Schaub. This is simply a continuation of a trend that started building steam last season. Just admit you were wrong. Just admit that Schaub doesn't have "it", and that you were blind to that long after most of us had figured it out. But this is football, so moving the goalpost is acceptable, I guess.
Oh for ****s sakes...we're 4 games in drama queens. Jump off the bandwagon now and go be a cowboys fan. Gonna turn this thing around starting with da niners.
Fair enough, if by “now” you mean “December 2012,” which is actually nearly a year ago. Again, I wasn’t vitriolic, I didn’t loudly slam any doors shut… so no one who was jumping up and down and shooting fire out of their ears actually read any of the criticisms I posted then (and have consistenly reposted right up until this very second) because, god forbid, anyone be reasonable and patient before issuing Schaub his last rites… Beyond that, my biggest issue isn’t the Schaub criticism, per se – I don’t believe I’ve ever held him above criticism when he’s deserved it – but the misinformed depth of it. To say he’s the same ol Schaub right now is just fundamentally untrue. I know sports leaves a wide swath for personal interpretation and opinion – but that is just factually wrong. He’s never had a stretch this bad. But unlike his detractors – who never, ever even begrudgingly give him an inch (“IT WASN’T A NIGHT GAME!!!!” Isn't it funny that a week 4 game against Seattle means something but a week 4 game in Denver doesn't?) - I don’t have any trouble admitting that he is underperforming and costing us games and/or making it harder for us to win. This idea that I – or anyone else – would defend him right now perfectly encapsulates while a lot of the posters here (and elsewhere) have absolutely nothing to add beyond loud braying.
