Even so they are portrayed as smug assholes in the perspective of Walt, the entire series isn't in Walt's perspective alone, but not much has been detailed about why Walt left; about how much of Gray Matter's research is directly attributed to Walt.

I wasn't entirely sure that the Schwartz were merely thieves of Walt's research. Something must have went down, we just don't know what since it was never dived into during the show.

Hopefully there's some deleted scenes that will explain it.

Apt his just be a team Walt thing, but again, Walt is the one that continually puts Jesse in these situations. The least Walt can do is save him after everything he has done to Jesse

And I think Jesse made peace a while ago, and he has alive time ahead of him to resolve any other issues he has

I don't think you can ever forgive another man for constantly manipulating you for his own self interest time and time again. Forcing you to live with the guilt of an OD junkie girlfriend, and the indirect deaths of all those in the plane collision. Poisoning the son of his new love and, from the situation he was placed in due to Walt, eventually leading to the death of his then girlfriend and ensuring her son is going to grow up parent-less.

Walt is pure evil. He's still a badass though.
I felt bad for Jesse. One year of being enslaved and being forced to cook meth.

I missed on like 10 different guesses, way off. The only few things I got right was Badger (only b/c Walt knew his real name and would be able to get in touch with him), and that Walt would rescue Jesse based on a similar theme in The Searchers (Gilligan mentioned this last night).

My personal favorite was at the end, when the cops come in and Walt's lying on the floor, the way the police were filmed in that ceiling shot is an exact replica and homage to Taxi Driver when Travis Bickle is lying on the couch at the end and the cops bust in.

In the scene in the kitchen btw Skylar and Walt the wood that was covering Walt at the start looks like a coffin, IMO.

Walt is evil, there is no doubt about that. But Jesse needs to take responsibilities for his own action as well.

    * Why did Jane OD? One can argue it all started with Jesse getting her to do drugs again.

    * The plane crash can also be attributed to Jesse as well.

    * Why did Walt have to use Brock? Not to excuse Walt, but this can go back to Jesse wanting revenge on the 2 Gus's men. It caused Walt to be on Gus's **** list.

    * It was Jesse's finger that pulled the trigger killing Gale. He "could've" stopped.

    * It was Jesse's plan to rob the train, resulting in the kid dieing.

Stop defending him and blame all his doings on Walt. Yes, Walt is a manipulating sob, but Jesse has his own demons.

I had no idea where the song comes from, I did chuckle when I heard it. I wonder if Lydia knew Todd has a thing for her. Probably not.

Thanks for spoiling that for me, I've not seen Taxi driver! ;)

Oh my god cardpire your becoming intensely annoying!

As for the comment talking about wanting the show to end on a sad note with a sad song, that's not what Vince wanted. He clearly was showing Walter being happy with his ending, in a place where he found his only happiness. Looking back at it also the theme of the episode was just perfect and monotone as it should have been. All of the intensity in the previous episodes wouldn't have made sense here because this finale was supposed to show closure for him and everyone. Ended it perfectly!

Walt obviously felt betrayed by Jesse and Jane when they resorted to blackmailing him for the money. Threatening to turn Walt into his brother-in-law DEA is a huge threat. And, it's an obvious reason why Walt just let her die instead of saving her...so she would be out of the way. Wasn't that the beginning of the betrayals? Jesse was no Saint.

Yes, but I didn't say WHY they came and what condition Travis was in- that was actually different than Walter White.

Best of all with BB's increased popularity, when people ask what car I drive, I can just say "The same as Heisenberg, and it's not an Aztek."

As an unbiased bystander who has read yalls ridiculous back and forth: you've honestly been the one pouring fuel into the ridiculous-side of things. No offense intended, but you've skewed your argument to shoehorn your point from the go. Just sayin....

Ok, last post on here- one of my Facebook friend's friends comment was, "I don't get it.. all I hear about is this show Breaking Bad. Is there a reason why they're talking about this so much?"

    My response:

Breaking Bad is one of the best television shows ever made, period. It's one of the rare shows that plays out more like a classic film. And look at many of the most acclaimed movies in history- Vertigo, 2001, 9 1/2, Citizen Kane, The Tokyo Story, Apocalypse Now, Casablanca- what do they have in common? It's not just great acting or directing, or writing- it's the way those films are made. There is a visual style to Hitchcock, Kubrick, Altman, Ford, etc. that sets them apart- because, ultimately, TV and film is a visual medium. And thats' where Breaking Bad took it to a new level. You just rarely have shows in which the cinematography, the camera POV, is as unique as that show. I know, I've watched 100s of them, all the greats from The Twilight Zone to Hill Street Blues to the West Wing to The Wire, Mad Men, St. Elsewhere, and all the comedies. And Breaking Bad trumps them all visually (well, except maybe The Twilight Zone).

But another aspect that is mentioned is that the main character evolves, or devolves. That almost never happens on television. If anything, the point was to keep characters like Hawkeye Pierce from MASH, Columbo, Archie Bunker, et. al. essentially the same. Sure, they'd have moments of comedy in drama and vice versa, but ultimately the whole point was to keep them the same so viewers would be comfortable in coming back to them again and again. Breaking Bad started with the premise that they were going to take this main character and show his gradual descent into.. badness, evil, etc. Which is a challenge in itself because, unlike a film, TV demands loyalty, and how can you keep viewers coming back to a show again and again as the main character becomes less and less sympathetic? To me, it was quite an audacious undertaking.

And it worked because the plan all along was for a 4-season or 5-season show. Even as the show's popularity skyrocketed in this last season, the creator refused to consider extending it. He had the story mapped out from Season 3 on, and he ended it when it was supposed to end.

From a film buff's standpoint, the show has directly and indirectly referenced The Godfather, The French Connection, Once Upon a Time in the West, Pulp Fiction, Taxi Driver, Citizen Kane, Reservoir Dogs, Psycho, Apocalypse Now, The Searchers, The Graduate, and dozens of other classic films, either visually or through dialogue. So, from a purely allusional standpoint, it's a treat to watch.

And the music... well, let's say when you delve into numerous genres/styles such as reggae, bossa nova, Tejano, Native American tribal, etc. and resurrect such classics as Crystal Blue Persuasion, Going Down, Baby Blue, etc., and, most importantly, make them fit- you're doing something right.

All of this is icing on the cake of some of the best acting, directing, and screenwriting you'll ever get in a TV show. I don't mention these because they're so obvious to anyone who watches, and they have been discussed so much, that any number of articles can speak to the superlative nature of these elements in the show.

They'll be enjoying as well as studying this one for quite some time.

The last 8 episodes are the best Season (or half season) of any show I have ever watched. Just amazingly done.

I liked the ending. It wraps up many things. I still wonder about Huell?
