I think OU, OSU, maybe Tech and then getting obliterated by Baylor in the last game of the season should do it.

It would take us winning out to possibly save his job, and that ain't happening.

Boohoo they get a free education without the worry of crippling financial aide debt something 15 million kids wish they could have plus the opportunity to make millions straight out of college

I agree Alabama would match that. It would take a lot more for him to jump ship on likely 3 straight NC teams and Texas has the revenue to make it work

Hats off to Earl for commenting on Mack Brown, but I wish he hadn't suggested a specific replacement. It may undercut the strength of his words because he's lobbying.

Mack is going to whine again "the season should be about the kids, not me", but he made it about himself by hanging on until he lost his grip. He saw what happened in State College and Tallahassee and brought the same thing on UT.

Does anyone know how many tickets are allocated to students for OU-Texas?

You shouldn't have any problem getting one, I wouldn't think. Last year, they didn't even fill their entire student allotment, so alumni were sent an email with last minute ticket availability. The same happened this year.

My guess is... Chip Kelly is UT's HC next year.

Problem there is that we really have no idea how coordinators translate to head coaches - especially at Texas where there is so much "non-football" crap that they have to deal with.

I'd rather have someone who's been an innovative head coach at a lower level than a guy who's been a coordinator at a higher level.

I tend to agree with that. I have a gut feeling that Jerry Gray as HC at Texas could be special, but it seems like a risky move. With recruiting being so important, you need to have a feel for a guy's abilities/interest in that space. Throw in the reneged acceptance in 2010, and I just don't see it happening. He's in my top 3 either way.

How innovative is Saban? How has Harsin and Manny worked out. I rather have a coach that teach players how to knock the snot out of opponents.

Saban is an x-s and o's defensive guru and a process-process-process disciple - it's not just fire and brimstone.
