Well according to posters like ima and Hey Now, ragging on Schaub is a tired topic. If you're not talking about the Texans' problems that don't involve Schaub, you're not a true fan.
Schaub biggest strength in the past was his accuracy and protecting the football. Unfortunately since the Detroit game last year he has thrown 12 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. If he isn't accurate or protecting the football then what is left? I'm not really convinced that any of the back ups would be any better. But hopefully they go into next season looking for a real long term replacement, unless they make a complete turn around. It's a shame too, because for 3 quarters they dominated and Schaub was playing really well.
Funny thing is, in real life, where I live most of the time, I do not know any of these "Matt Schaub is elite" people, I barely know any that don't hate him as our starting QB; and it has been like this for years. It seems this argument exists only online or that Gary Kubiak has many user names here on Clutchfans.
I think sometimes you can lose perspective. He's a good player but it's hard for him to come back from a **** up. I'm just worried we give the guy the boot and end up like half the league. Go year after year without a good QB.
The Texans problem is that they don't have an all-pro line, running back, tight end, receiver corps, and defense to put around Schaub.
Talking about the picture? If so then yes. I saw some guys doing so I pulled over by the park and walked to the freeway to take the pic. The also hung signs and had another cup sign that said cut #8.
There are some glaring points that a lot of talk radio has mentioned about schaub so far. 1. Schaub is an excellent QB when his pocket is intact and he is allowed time to survey the field. what should he do: continue to carve up match ups unless the defense changes. Dont let up when the same defense is set up and continue to abuse that match up. Garrett Graham shouldve had a big day, bc they consistently had a LB trying to cover him. On Grahams TD, the LB was totally lost on the play. 2. Schaub has shown signs of playing very well for certain stretches of the game and then finds a way to regress at other moments. what should he do: Schaub must find a way to stay as cool as his persona. Schaub rarely looks flustered in the pocket, but his QB play when things go bad speak otherwise. He really has to be more consistent in his play for this team. 3. Schaub can not handle pressure up the middle or Blitz that come on the weakside of the line. This would indicate that he isnt paying as much attention to the front 7 of a defense. This is why the practice sessions should make a huge difference. This week as they prepare for the 49ers, they have to simulate real game pressure and allow for Schaub to start making more plays outside the pocket. Schaub has to start shifting protection or has to have more freedom to check out of a bad play. The 3rd and 5 play was something that really shouldnt have happened. If he shifted the line to his right, that Blitzer wouldve been picked up and he most likely wouldve just thrown the ball away or switched to a running play. Also get the cheap 5 yd penalties by changing up the count and cadence. 4. Schaub cowers whenever he takes a sack is emminent and rarely just throws the ball away. All of Schaubs pick 6 INTs are a direct result of DBs sitting on the short flat route. What should he do: This is getting to be embarassing. People around the league are noticing how Schaub gets into fetal position just at the slightest sense that the pocket wont hold up. This is a sign of a flustered QB. If the Blitz are coming, send your beasts vertical and just punish teams for sending extra help. On that particular play, if the Texans just sent everyone vertical I can guarantee that OD mightve been open. Stop throwing to the flat especially when you know the Blitz is coming. He has to get more slant and go routes, and vertical routes. 5. Schaub cant win against the big time opponents in this league. What should he do: Schaub has shown the ability to bring his team back, but that is the point. A good QB doesnt have to do so on regularity. And when the team depends on you to deliver, you cant make team crushing plays. Arian Foster's reaction was exactly what everyone felt. Why even throw the ball, especially to the flat. This is when you have the least protection if you make a mistake. If you are gonna heave a pass, just throw it down the field to your playmaking WR and let them make a play. So far, Schaub has yet to show that he can deliver in against the best in this league. And when teams smell blood, they attack it until its fixed. While this season is at an early point(1/4 games played), good teams now know how to play our team. Schaub has to deliver or images of jersey burnings, and booing on offense is going to be more steadily seen.
he's not lazy as hell, the Bucs are playing for a medicore coach... point blank period, they put in his replacement, and he made their offense look worse yesterday... The Bucs coach just sucks not Freeman, i remmeber Freeman being the master of the 4th quarter comeback early in his career, and has won some big games... I would take my chances on a proven guy like Freeman who is still young and will obviously have a chip on his shoulder with something to prove on his new team, over a one-game wonder like Kirk Cousins. Besides Freemans value is low right now and he is still young, you really wanna give up a 2 and 3 for a guy like Cousins who could be the next Matt Flynn, Matt Cassell.. i also expect Brian Hoyer to fall back down to earth when teams get tape on him
a couple of classic schaub plays, It's amazing how he folds under even the slightest sense of pressure Spoiler <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/RQMK89xsbXA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Spoiler <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/S9cHjDfcrNA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

[rQUOTEr]And, of course, people in my business felt compelled to point out the obvious -- it's tough to imagine the Texans getting past the divisional round of the playoffs (their final destination in each of the past two seasons) with this kind of quarterback play. In reality, the bulk of the anger shouldn't be directed at Schaub. Rather, Texans fans should be ticked off at general manager Rick Smith, who didn't explore other options, and Kubiak, who clearly has more faith in his quarterback than logic suggests he should.[/rQUOTEr]
The first stage is angry, yet vague, burst of anger, usually about losing, or playing harder, or focus, or something like that. Nothing directed to a specific coach or player, though.
Heard on a podcast today that Schaub has joined Elway, P. Manning and Ty Detmer as the only QBs to throw a pick six in 3 straight games. Pretty elite company.
ugh you late bro, Freeman is technically not on the team like i said we saw what Freeman's backup did yesterday, so the proof is in the pudding, Greg Schiano is a flat out bad coach Freeman would excel on the texans, or someone like Boyd, or Stephen Morris in the upcoming draft
