Over the last 10 games including the playoffs Schaub has been a bad QB and not playing like the Schaub of old. I believe he is at 11 TD and 11 INT's over that span. At his current play he has no supporters.
I've always supported the team. No one player is greater than the team. I will still root for him until he's outta here. With this being said, he looks highly mediocre right now.
This. I'm not sure why some of you think there are that many left on the Schaub bandwagon. Most fell off last season. I was on until now. Still, though, I'm a Texans fan first...way more than a fan of any individual player.
It's weird reading through the Schaub extension thread and see how many were on board with it just a year ago. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=225993&page=3 Looking back on what I said, I basically though Schaub signing was a bit annoying but kind of necessary. In a Kevin Martin is worth $10mil/yr kind of way. I think most people, including myself, did not foresee Schaub turning into a p*ssy in half a season and start turning into Blaine Gabbert when defenders come near him.
Again supporting and liking are two different things entirely. Why wouldn't you support Schaub over starting Yates or Case? The season isn't a lost cause yet where a major shake up is needed.
Yes. Schaub is still better than Yates/Keenum. Don't get me wrong, I'm ready to move on, we need to move on. But Yates/Keenum do not make us contenders. And why do I have to keep mentioning our 3rd stringer? From now on it's just, "Yates". We wait it out... roll with Yates next year and draft someone we can develop. We'll have money to spend on FA's, possibly Antonio Smith. Watt is locked in for awhile. Perhaps we can erase the Ed Reed mistake as well, but I'm not sure his cap hit is all that big next year. Either way, moving on without a highly paid QB is half the battle nowadays, you either need an elite QB or a cheap QB. These middle of the road Eli Manning's and Joe Flacco's will not get it done, that model to building a franchise is now over.
8 is my favorite number... never want to see it on another starting Texans QB in 4 years at this point. I defended Schaub up until the collapse late last year. I came into the season want to give him the benefit of the doubt and the only thing I feel now is that for the way he handles dancing around answers he should be a politician. Don't want him as my QB, Derrick Ward (who played with him) was absolutely right in this not being the guy to take us to where the rest of the team has the talent to go.
I heard on the radio only 3 people were up there with Schaub at this point, John Elway, Peyton Manning and some random guy who's name I forgot. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he did it again, they announced he became the all time leader. The most consecutive games with interceptions is 8 I think.
