Total yards per game I would presume.

great. i prefer points to time of possession, yardage and completion percentage.

    We're 16th in that category.

Oh I agree. The lack of big plays in the passing game has been the biggest reason for the disparity between yards and points. When you rely heavily on short and intermediate passes it greatly increases the odds of a Schaub bonehead decision. Playaction has always been the primary source of big passing plays in this offense and it's clearly not working this year. I think Kubiak deserves just as much blame as Schaub, and they both deserve a lot of blame.

Any team that plays a great 4 quarters can beat anyone. Too bad we haven't played a great 4 quarters in about 10 games.

Sure. They would have praised him for doing great. But it was expected from Schaub to make a ridiculous play.

This is HOUSTON. We won't be happy until we actually win the championship. Schaub hasn't proven himself. If he win had a good game, they'd say good job but they'd still want him to do that over an extended period of time not just for one game. They want Schaub to prove himself and it seems unlikely.

    Obviously.

But there are many teams out there that wish they could move the ball like the Texans. The first two weeks, we were 7/7 in the red zone. It was only really week 3 where we struggled with the red zone.

Schaub has his issues, but he has been a large part of why we have been good on offense. It's like everyone is forgetting that Seattle had the top defense in football...and they usually make QBs look stupid. (Colin Kaepernick).

The Texans took the Seahawks from #1 defense...and knocked them out of the top 5.

Yes, we should have won yesterday's game...but lets not act like Schaub is the worst QB ever, which is exactly what this board has become. Look at players like Cutler (3 int and a fumble returned for a TD) and Flacco (5 interceptions)...those two did much worse than Schaub yesterday. And, they lost to the Lions and Bills...and we lost to one of the top 2 teams in the NFL.

It sucks, but it could be much worse.

Of course they would do that in the Cowboys home market.

The question is are you satisfied with that? Do think the best organizations in sports or business run around with the mantra: "eh, it sucks, but it could be much worse." ??

I just don't know how anyone can defend Schaub at this point.

No, I'm not defending Schaub and I'm not satisfied. This team can do better. What I am saying though is that the sentiment here is that Schaub is one of the worst QBs in the nfl...and that is absolutely just not true.

i like terry bradshaw's commentary in their recap after the cowboys chargers.
"schaub is a fantastic qb but i don't know if he will ever overcome those big mistakes."

can we really expect 12 more pick sixes in a row? it stops next week. and we end up 5-2 before the break.

We're at the point where it's not about is Schaub the worst quarterback in the league. People are mad because it's getting more and more obvious that Schaub is not going to win a championship as a starting QB. He has the inability to make plays. He can't adapt to the situation. If one peg falls apart in the original plan, his (and Kubiak's most likely) priority is to live another down. Throw it away or curl up. Unfortunately, those relief valves go off way too early in his read progressions.

Yeah, I agree...the first sign of the play breaking down and there's no hope of making something out of nothing. It just seems like these Schaub mistakes are happening at the worst time. Really, take out one play from yesterday's game and not only do the Texans win, but Schaub is hailed as a pimp.

Those mistakes need to stop..it's only a couple plays a game, but they happen at crucial junctions. That part needs to be figured out and it's not that hard to avoid those mistakes. I don't see the sky falling like everyone else. Like Antonio Smith said, he hasn't felt this good about the team in a long time.

It's pointless to discuss a qb change bc that's not going to happen this year. You guys may as well look to see how we can make the most out of our current situation.
