i would trade for freeman and see what the "qb guru" kubiak could do with him in practice as a backup.. hes probably the most talented player hes going to ever find in this type of situation.

Freeman would be a good option at this point, everyone seems to think he sucks. But its more of the Bucs coach is trash, we could steal him for nothing

Why does this coach keep sticking with Matt Shaub? He is only accurate because he throws 4 yard passes on 3 and 10. His mobility is one of the worse and he literally freezes at the sight of a Defensive Linemen. It is time to let the backups step up, either see what they can do or put some umph into Shaub. I hate people calling this guy one of the most accurate QBs, majority of his passes are behind, only reason his passes get caught are because the people catching the football are talented. Matt Shaub needs to go back to being a backup QB.

Freeman is lazy as hell. He even missed the team picture! He doesn't "do" film study, either. PASS

Why would Tampa Bay go from one underachieving Qb to another. And same for Houston. Josh Freeman is a bit overrated. IMO, i think id be ok with a trade getting Big Ben to Houston. I definitely don't know how the salary cap situation works with a trade like that, but I'd love it if the Texans were able to get a real Superbowl winning QB to Houston.

The Texans may have to part with Ben Tate , Schaub and another player/pick?? to make something like this happen. But the truth is I doubt they would ever trade Ben, only to get an average QB and a decent RB.

It's very rare for any player to actually get traded for another player in the NFL - and certainly not QB-for-QB. Generally, it will be for draft picks.

That said, I'm not an expert on the cap, but Schaub's extension last season may be a huge problem as far as replacing him goes.

I've been a Schaub supporter. I've always believed he was a safe game manager that could occasionally get hot. We would need a great team around him, but that he was capable.

But not only is he not winning us games, he is actively losing games for us, which is completely unacceptable obviously.

After this disaster I'm firmly in the "anyone but Schaub" crowd. I really don't see anything from Yates or Keenum, but at this point I don't see any risk because Schaub can't handle physical pressure. The game situation doesn't casue him to choke, he just gets nervous when he doesn't have a completely clean bubble, which you won't have against good teams.

Schaub should have little trade value given his play so far. The team that trade him will have to pay 11, 13.5, and 15.5 for the last 3 years of his contract(granted none guaranteed). The Texans AFTER this season has $10.5mil guaranteed money spread over the last 3 years of his contract. Meaning the Texans dead money go from 10.5 to 7 to 3.5. Of course, if the Texans keep him, they also have to pay his base and other bonuses to the total of the above figure.

2015 is likely the first year where Schaub becomes cut-able. But it's also the year Watt will be paid. Also I believe Cushing and Brown's contracts also bloat in that year. So the Texans really can't get cap relief anyway. I think if we were to rebuild, it's best to cut/trade Schaub, AJ, and Joseph at the same time, eat a ton of money the next year, and start with mostly a fresh slate.
