I was going to make an in depth response covering what the Astros are doing and why you should have patience, but this comment is hilarious. Please stop talking about baseball. It's embarrasing.
I'm much more likely to go watch at with a future rather than one that is getting gutted like Drayton did.
The Astros are the worst team in baseball because of years of bad decisions. That is not the fault of current management. We were old and untalented. Our farm system was a joke. They had to start shipping off all players with value to bolster the farm system. The result of that is having a laughable MLB team, but a completely rejuvenated farm system. It's not about tanking, it's about getting younger and more talented. That talent just hasn't reached the MLB yet.
We are in the Rockets forum right? I mean, who give s flying fig about the Astros? Oh, the people discussing it do. My bad...carry on. (Or get back to discussing how this affects the upcoming Rockets season)
Well you don't seem to care about the future. Only what happens right now. So education must be low on your priority list right? Because 3rd graders don't fill help the economy. Or is that thought completely asinine? Hmmm....
i dont understand what argument youre trying to make here. are you saying that building the farm doesnt matter? how much do you understand about baseball? just asking. ofcourse mmp isnt going to fill up because the current major league product is bad, more than half of this team really has no future with the franchise. to make the product better it starts with building the farm system bottomline.. remember ours was real bad when crane bought this team, so we were behind the 8ball as a whole, no talent at the big league level and no talent at the minor league level...
when we talk about farms im getting the impression that some of you see some kids hitting a ball around in front of a barn..
I expect Springer to be with the Astros next year and correa/Appel the following year. Is my expectations too high?
i got free tickets to teh astros game from CSN this year, and twice they gave. i never use any. fk u crane!
Could be ready and actually being on the team are 2 different things. So near the end of the next season and Appel is tearing it up in the minors and doesn't get called up, that's the Astros looking out for their long term future? At a certain point you need to give the fans something to get into on the field instead of stat watching the minors.
Nope, though Appel could be ready next year sometime. Correa in 2015, with some other top prospects coming in the next two years. It'll actually be fun going to an Astros game with the future of the team on the field and not AAAA players.
