Great to see the season is approaching. And this thread does confirm that water is wet: Asik requested a trade; and when the right time / offer comes along, he shall be granted that wish.

(Asik and Howard together) If it works well, we'll play them a lot. If it doesn't work, not much. We'll give it every opportunity. - mchale "translation" If it doesnt work by camp morey will pull the trigger on one of the trades he is already thinking about. -the PF howard wants to play with "on this current roster pending a trade is Jones, that was clear to see today
So, apparently Beverley went out one night and met some dude who said he was a big fan, has season tickets, likes his game, etc... Turns out it was Andre Johnson, who Beverley didn't recognize, which made him feel like a "big douche". <iframe src="http://player.theplatform.com/p/zT2_HC/iEazkwCwmKPM/embed/select/jrqlmbUk703z?params=zone%3Dcsnvideo&autoPlay=false" width="480" height="270" frameborder="0" seamless="seamless" allowfullscreen>Your browser does not support iframes.</iframe>
What other power forwards on the team has Dwight played with besides Jones? Asik and Dmo were in europe over the off season, and I don't think he played any with Greg Smith yet either.
Thats quite a few assumptions. On Asik trade- Whose to say that they wouldn't have already traded him if the right deal was there. More than likely that's the case. For now ( and possibly the entire season) keeping Omer & getting the production he gives you as a backup might be better than the pennies you can get for him in trade right now. Its alot more complicated than just assuming what you are assuming that at any point in the year when they want to they can just flip a switch and get .... say Paul Millsap or LaMarcus Aldridge for Asik in a split second. -On T. Jones- All Howard said was that him AND OMRI CASSPI have surprised him at how talented they are. If it was up to Dwight's preference he probably would say that HE would be the starting PF alongside Asik. Nowhere did he say what you are implying.
He's been in several Nike commercials this Summer. It's safe to say that yes... he's probably wearing Nikes.
I doubt an Asik trade happens that soon. It would be foolish to give up the opportunity to have him in the 2nd unit until the perfect deal comes along.
Heard some rumors he left Nike for Under Armour,yeah...that would be crazy considering how much promo he did for Nike this summer
Trust in Morey! Morey will never trade Asik before trade deadline, if he get the player who is our target guy, I think next season opening should be the trade time

Jeremy Lin glad for lower profile [rQUOTEr]HOUSTON -- Jeremy Lin said he failed in handling the huge expectations that were placed on him following his breakout season with the New York Knicks and hopes a lower profile in his second season with the now star-studded Houston Rockets will help him. A year ago, Lin was the focal point when the Rockets opened the season after they signed him away from the Knicks. But he struggled in his first full season as a starting point guard, and the Rockets have since traded for James Harden and signed Dwight Howard. That has made the team a contender and taken some of the burden off Lin. "Learning to manage and deal with expectations and which voices to tune out takes time," Lin said at Rockets media day Friday. "You have to fail at it to get to where you want to get to." Lin was frequently critical of his performance last season, when he started all 82 games and averaged 13.4 points and 6.1 assists. He was constantly chasing his five-week run in 2012 in New York and the famed "Linsanity." With Howard and Harden, Lin is now more focused on being the role player he ended up becoming when the Rockets made the playoffs last season. "From a personal standpoint, there's a lot less pressure this season," Lin said. "I've had such a wide spectrum of literally no expectations to having every expectation. Now it's kind of going back down to some lower expectations." Lin isn't the only Rocket who has a different view a year into his tenure. Center Omer Asik, who like Lin was a significant free agent addition in 2012, was not pleased when the Rockets signed Howard. He requested to be traded, a wish the Rockets have so far declined as they plan to experiment with playing Howard and Asik together. Over the past two months, as many as 10 Rockets players got together at a time for workouts in Los Angeles and Aspen, Colo., but Asik was not among them. He spent the summer playing for the Turkish national team. Friday was the first day he'd been with the his teammates since the Howard signing. "I have no comment on (the trade demand), I'm just here to do my job, that's all I can say," Asik said. "I think (Howard) is the best center in the league and he's a great addition for the Houston Rockets and we'll see how it goes. I'm a basketball player and I'll do whatever the coaches say."[/rQUOTEr]
