Just a quick poll on what you think of Yates and Keenum.

Yates has already established himself as a quality backup. Keenum's ceiling might be higher, but I want to see him play in a real game before I declare him the next Texans' starting QB.

I think both can eventually be starters. Maybe not for this team but a team with a QB need is very possible.

Keenum lacks NFL regular season game experience, but he has tons of football experience. He now has a good bit of preseason NFL experience. He has always demonstrated several characteristics (even in preseason): he is mobile, he has ice in his veins - very cool and collected pocket presence, he throws a strong, accurate, and easy to catch pass, he is shifty and creative, he can make the difficult pass across his body and on the run. He is very smart. In many ways his demeanor and temperament are very different from Schaub. I like T.J., but in some ways he reminds of Schaub version 2. As a UH fan I have watched Case for years. I blame Sumlin for cratering his career at the wrong time. He was a legit Heisman candidate until the "game" where the coaching change became common knowledge among the players. Then all the air went out of the balloon and the perfect season was lost.

I truly believe that if given a chance, Case can become what the Texan's are really in need of.

Keenum is the 3rd string QB. Despite looking okay in preseason play, he's only getting pub because he played at UH. In reality, fans don't even comment on 3rd sting QB's when the backup QB has a playoff win and a walkoff rushing TD in a critical game. I hope he either winds up starting soon or is cut because I'm tired of hearing this bozos name.

ABSOLUTELY! KEENUM HAS "IT". Keenum is as good as Brady/Rodgers/Brees/Manning. He just needs a chance. Trade Schaub NOW!

ARE YOU BLIND?!?! What more does Keenum have to prove to the city of Houston? He has done everything for the team.

If you were like me, and watched every single one of Keenum's games while I was a student at UH, you would know. Keenum just has IT. The players better get a Yellow Jacket cake ready for Keenum. Elite QB!

I guess you are just kidding about Keenum being "as good" as the elite QB's in the game. He has elite potential, but he is unproven. Most of the guys you mentioned have won Super Bowls. Case hasn't even played in a regular season NFL game. Let's keep it real.

He's trolling. Still not sure if he likes Keenum or not.

Keenum isn't allowed to get reg seasons experience under Konserviak's tutelage. He's kind of like that overprotective mother that is afraid of letting her little darlings make mistakes. I do think Case is already more equipped than Schaub and Yates (sorry Yates lovers but the only thing Yates showed anyone is that he needs someone to compete with in order to sit down and play at a decent backup QB clip) to get this team further. Though I too am tired of him being a subject. Texans should just let him walk next season if they don't plan on using him and draft Schaub's replacement. Though a more likely scenario is not drafting a QB, keeping Keenum and Yates, and giving Schaub and Kubiak another extension.

I have a "feeling" that Kubiak especially likes Case and has him mind down the road. Unfortunately, I am afraid that the timetable isn't realistic and Case may want to go elsewhere for a chance to start. Things can change very fast as we learned year before last.

My head says both will be quality backups but my heart wants to say they can be better than Schaub.

Keenum seems to have an ability to just make plays, unlike Schaub or Yates. That's what could separate him and eventually give him his shot in the NFL. I'm not going to sit here and proclaim him the next Drew Brees, but I think there is potential to be a very, very good QB.

Yates decision-making scares me in the way that Sage Rosenfels' did. I like both of the guys, but just don't want them as my every week starter.

Can't really answer with the limitations of the poll.

Yates is already a good backup QB. I liken him to an Alex Smith type QB. I think he could be a starter, but not a game changer. Consistent and reliable, a guy you can trust but won't push you over the edge. He's basically Schaubesque, you start him until you draft your guy you love. Don't make the same mistake as the Texans though, Holding onto a guy for far too long.

Keenum is just a big unknown. He looks every good as Yates with a lot less time in the offense. He does seem to have that "it" factor everyone speaks of. He seems to rise to the occasion when needed and makes adjustments on the fly when forced to. I like his pocket presence and his "escapabillity" under pressure. He's a lot more athletic than either of the other guys as well. And like everyone else has said he just doesn't have the all important experience. I feel he can be like Russel Wilson with the same ceiling height as well.

Whether or not the Texans make the right decision, we can only wait and see. Both of them are being wasted on this roster so long Schaub is our starter.

Honestly, Next year is the year to move on from Schaub and push forward the youth movement even further with this team.

I appreciate what Yates has brought as a backup, but believe that is all he will ever be.

I think Keenum has that "it" factor. I'm not saying he will be a star, but the game comes naturally to him as to where I believe Yates is more mechanical.

I'd lke to see Case get a shot one day.
