Which one would that be? This has to be the dumbest thing I have read in a long time. So do you think religious ideologies should be immune from criticism? Even if its followers murder scores of people in its name?
Of course not.... but you certainly can push it to point where it creates an environment where people eventually judge individuals based on their religion before they even have a chance to understand who that person actually is. I think you sometimes do push it that far. For ex: This thread.... It's about a Sikh who was attacked based on how he looks and you post a comment about Muslims abusing women. I just don't see how those two relate. It shows your obsessive compulsion to criticize the religion at no cost. I honestly do not know how your mind works ATW. When you see a group of Muslims praying together do you automatically assume they are not "good people"?
I think everyone agrees that someone who burns anyone with acid for religious ideals is ignorant, and I don't see the point of adding it in a thread about a Sikh who got mistaken for a Muslim and attacked because of it.
the victim in this case is mistaken for something that he is not, as far as appearance goes. one scenario has a victim of stereotyping, racism, and bias. the other is a whole different can of worms.
One of my friends is a Sikhs as a Columbia student, and he was talking about similar situations as well. This incident with the professor was not a first. He did mention about people stereotyping when drunk a lot.
As I have mentioned on here before, I have a friend who studied with me in Houston and who is Sikh. He tried to fly a few days after 9/11. He got searched like crazy, found it humiliating and wrote an article about it in a magazine. I can relate to him and understand how it made him feel upset. But I can also see how security people were extra nervous just after 9/11.
Of course not. And many do but few take it to an unnecessary, inaccurate, and unhealthy extreme like you do. It's definitely a contributing factor among many others for why someone becomes a terrorist. Your take seems to be there are no other factors but the faith itself.
There have been studies that show that the human brain tends to create easy solutions if it is unable to completely comprehend or analyze a situation. People who are intellectually challenged/lazy/not knowledgeable/programmed will tend to point out a singular solution or reason to a complicated problem. I wouldn't blame ATW, there are tons of people like him, just see this board or youtube comments. So why care what some random dude says, you aren't going to change anyone's mind on here.
You might have a lot of money and claim you are educated. But 90% of the posts I read from you lack proper punctuation and grammar. If you can't even properly spell or format on a message board, how can you ever write a business letter or a resume for that matter. Now you might say that why does it matter how I write on a message board. But the concept is if you are lazy or undisciplined in any one aspect of life, you are probably lazy and undisciplined in many other parts of your life as well.
Were his attackers black? I saw the video released and most of the people on the bikes looked white/Hispanic. It was a black and white surveillance camera though, so I might be wrong.
He was clearly talking about himself when he spoke of "people who are intellectually challenged/lazy/not knowledgeable/programmed" .
