So Omer is going above and beyond the call of duty, taking on more responsibility and expanding his job description. Omer is a hard worker. Thanks Omer. I hope McHale learns to only b**** at the players he actually needs to b**** at, at some point. He's been coaching long enough you'd think.
Omer is entitled to his opinion just like Coach Mchale is entitled to his. Omer has his own goals, as does Coach Mchale. IMO, this is a non-issue.
Now that new subscribers of league pass get to watch last season's games from today, I watched through a couple games (cherry picked of course.) And I was surprised at how good Asik was offensively. His hands may not be the best but his positioning and reading of the pick and rolls is pretty solid. Some fun reverse layups as well. That's a damn fine centre to have on your bench
Asik is among the top character guys in the league I'm sure he will go about his role to the best of his ability and not cause any friction.
If someone gave my job to someone else and kept me on as a backup right before I was positioned for a big pay day as a starter, I'd be pissed. But until Omer says that he is pissed or not pissed, I wish we could squash these ”rumors.”
Yes. I think McHale is just annoyed that people keep asking him that question. He knows when the season starts that Asik is going to do his job the best he can and he's not worried about how Asik is going to react. And it goads him how some people seem to think he's supposed to handle Asik with kid gloves as if he couldn't be counted on to be professional about it. Asik made his feelings know when the signing happened. That's good for the Rockets to know as they make decisions for the future. But, there's no reason it should force their hands in trades or in rotations.
Not sure why McHale would react like that unless Asik actually has said something... very passive aggressive.. Team Chemistry: -5
Unfortunately very few seek facts anymore. How about they ask Asik -- on record -- instead of trying to start Real World ****.
He's being smart at the reporter. It's obvious by now he's good for these kind of media responses when a question starts to wear on him.
McHale is not the coach that Houston deserves, he's the coach that it needs right now. He's not being a hero. He's being something more.
But didn't the Rockets just give him a pretty nice pay day that his previous employer was unwilling to give him? Shouldn't he be doing what he can to fit into the Rockets system, since it is the Rockets who are now paying him his pretty decent pay day? Not ignoring this current pay day he is working for and trying to find another pay day already? Either way, Mchale could have probably left out those comments about Asik not being GM. You really don't want to discourage your employees by embarrassing them.
Mchale said Asik's job is to figure out how they can play together and be effective. ??? It should be Coach's job.or do I misunderstand what he said???
Absolutely. What goes around come around. Carmelo A became a scrub when he wanted D'Antoni removed. NY lost many games because of Melo's passive aggressiveness. How will Asik act out his dislike for McHale?
