I would take Harden over either Kobe or Wade, at least day-in, day-out. For one playoff series or one game, not sure. But Kobe is at 54,000 career minutes and coming off of a horrible injury as a 35-year-old, and Wade is like 31 and can't stay healthy.

Also, Harden is a far superior shooter to Wade.

Another funny thing about that Sports Illustrated list is Dwight isn't Top 10. Like one year ago, ESPN had him something like Top 3 in the NBA.

Or unless an injury that has ruined or ended the career of pretty much every single NBA player who has suffered it at a similar age and experience level Kobe is at. You know, there's that too.

The thought that Kobe is going to bounce back from a torn Achilles to be better than Harden is laughable.

lol at all the crap Harden is copping from the heat fanboys.

All we need now is Royce to tweet both KD and Wade and say a #bewell

Liking KD more and more. Damn straight Hardens better. No question. There isn't a GM who wouldn't take Harden over DWade even at more money.

    Harden> Kobe > Carmelo > Wade

I know Carmelo is a small forward... but oh well.

Wade at this stage of his career, there is no question to take James. He has an arrow pointing up while Wade's is pointing down. We will have to wait and see who ends up having a better overall career though (Not talking rings, but being a better overall player).

Actually IMO there really isn't a gap between Kobe and Harden, even for last year. Kobe had better overall FG%, although Harden's TS% is higher. Kobe still went to the line 8 times a game. And he averages higher points, reb, assists per game (and per 36 min).

And neither of them played defense last year.

But I give the vote to Harden, just more efficient, more of a team player.

But I'm not so sure Harden is better than a healthy Wade that isn't overshadowed by Lebron James. I mean Wade was 21 / 5 / 5 playing 4 minutes less and playing off Lebron James with better steals, blocks numbers than Harden and shot 52% FG. If healthy and not playing alongside Lebron, I think Wade is still a 26 / 6 / 6 player, and because Wade does play defense and does it well, I'd say he's a better player than Harden.

If you watched Harden all last season, then you saw he could play defense when he wanted. To start the season, defensive growing pains were rightfully expected. Also, you could see Harden learning when and where to exert energy as a lead dog. In certain games you could see the trial and error. Eventually, his faulty defense became nonexistent. Being a lead dog in a high pace offense is extremely taxing.

When we played the Heat, in the 4th quarter, all of the sudden Harden decided to play D and was surprisingly good. The guy is capable, but the league shines a bigger light on scorers. In order to attract another star player, Harden needed to be at his best offensively. Now, we're contenders. Harden will have to be better on defense now that the offensive load will be delegated. We should see his true capabilities this season.

As far as the best SG in the league, it's Harden. Probably not by much, but he's at the top going forward.

A lot of aspects go into this kind of ranking.
Reminds me of the years of Steve Nash getting MVP honors while not being the best overall player but one that was the head and motor of the Phoenix Suns.

And he never made the Finals but he was heck of a player.

This, people really underratin Wade now because he has to play with LeBron and Bosh. He would still make monster numbers with a team where he's the clear go-to guy.

I could probably have good enough grades get into Harvard if I aced all my tests instead of the three I really put my effort into.

Nobody said Harden can't play defense even if he tried, like Kevin Martin, but the reality was other than a few efforts Harden's actual defense played wasn't even materially better than Kevin Martin.

He needs to play better D and I think he will this year. If Lin, Harden and Parsons all up their D this year (Parsons back to his rookie-year D), and we're starting Jones instead of DMo, we'll have one of the top 5 point differentials in the league.
