I posted this in the other thread.

For me, the frustrating part is this is probably the greatest collection of talent a Houston football team has had since the Pardee/Gilbride/Eddy/Ryan teams of the early 90's. I think this group could be better at the end of the year.

I don't want Bob McNair to waste this generation of players on Kubes and Schaub. I hope Kubes and Schaub prove me wrong THIS year.

FWIW, Footballoutsiders DVOA rankings dissected the Texans as offense 19th, defense 10th, and special teams 32nd.

And based on the eye test, I do attribute our current woes more to the offense than the defense. Our offense doesn't score TDs in the redzone. They waste good field position over and over. Schaub has a pick 6 in 2 of 3 games. The defense hasn't been dominant, but overall they've stopped teams for the most part.

Oh, and Joe Marciano needed to be fired last year.

Every game in that franchise's history has been a sellout. There's a waiting list for season tickets. That franchise has had way more support than it's ever earned.

How Marciano has survived 12 seasons is inconceivable.

But the message board support isn't there.

    It just isn't.

Kubiak problem is that he doesnt want to give up on schaub. I believe he can coach us to a super bowl but he has to change the qb

    You have point.

Lack of message board support = Schaub's lack of arm strength

    Sigh...

And I can sum up all three names with just one name:

    Bob McNair

McNair's attitude toward personnel is an issue that affects the Texans. I have been a manager too, and in regard to personnel my focus was on performance. Loyalty is laudable when appropriate, but loyalty to under performers is cronyism, the good ole network, and counter productive. Long extensions are a poor decision, especially in sports. McNair is wasting valuable talent and time because of over conservatism. Fans are condemned to certain disappointment which is not necessary. Accountability makes for a different atmosphere. Some Texan's players and coaches are way, way too comfortable. I would love to see what a Bill Cowher, Gruden, or Parcells could do with this team. I would love to see what a mobile QB with a tad of charisma and cannon arm could do.

Why have a Ferrari if you are only going to let your grandmother drive it?

Shouts out to 610 where the Ferrari reference is from.

Wow, I don't live in the Houston area and can't get 610; guess we were thinking along the same lines.

Dude, you are so delusional! The Texan fan base is growing and our fans are great! There is a reason why we are one of the richest sports franchises in the world!

However, Matt Schaub and Coach Kubiak are keeping us from a Superbowl and there is nothing personal about it.
