Bit of an overstatement I think...I agree it likely won't happen but Pelicans aren't THAT good.

I think Boston for Rondo should still be on the table - a pass first all star caliber PG has higher upside for a slashing Parsons/Harden or an athletic center like Howard. The PF position I think we could live with having Jones, DMo and Smith this season.

I'd rather cut Asik and get no one for him at all than get stuck with Rondo. The guy is a worse shooter than I am, tell me how that would work with a ball dominant guard like Harden?

I doubt Gordon and Evans would spend much time on the court together, but I suppose it's possible they move Evans to the 3. Still that puts 3 ball-dominant guards on the floor together. Couple that with a lack of depth compared to us and it's hard to see if they would be more talented than us overall.

I agree that we shouldn't sell Asik 50 cents on dollar. Just one thing: I don't think we really are weak at the backup SF. Garcia can play good D, Harden can shift over when we go small with Bev and Lin on the floor, and Jones may work in some situations. I don't think backup 3 is a big issue. But that's not saying that we won't miss Delfino's spark off the bench....

Rondo dominates the ball more then any other guard in the NBA par Kobe. How is Harden supposed to coexist with a dude that can't shoot and demands the ball 24/7?

Slight adjustment to his game? Harden should be able to co-exist the same way Pierce and Rondo coexisted their way to the trophy in 2008.

What you mean is, he is not a good three point shooter. It's a good thing he averages double figure assists. Tons of playoff experience as a bonus.

I know this was posted as a separate thread however posting this on the twitter thread. Love JLin's response to Chandler's advice on dating.

No, what he means is that Rondo can't shoot the ball at all. He's only a marginally better FT shooter than Howard. I haven't played basketball in years yet I'm not much worse at shooting the ball than Rondo is. He's pretty much the worst possible player the Rockets could even consider going after.

I just don't think we would need him to score as much as you're considering...we have a two top 10 players and a Parsons to carry most of that load. Assists turn to points and that's what Rondo does best.

2008 Rondo isn't the star 2011-on Rondo. Who loves to stat pad to the point where it costs his team. Once he gets wind that he is 1 or 2 rebounds away from a triple-double, watch out, he starts playing and hawking the paint like he is a power forward. Also, hawking up assists and forcing when nothing is there. I love Rondo but I don't think he would fit on this team.

Yeah Rondo can't shoot but he proved he can score by that 40 point game vs Miami in the playoffs.
