Among the half truths and flat out stupid things you've posted here, this one really highlights how clueless you are on the subject.

I think the same thing about some of the crap you post. You claim to be so intelligent on the issues, but you spin everything in your typical lib fashion. I don't pretend to be an expert, but I know what I am talking about, I know what I am hearing from doctors, from medical experts, and I trust my sources.

I am so disappointed that you don't think highly of me, I was planning on posting your approval certificate over my bed. Get over yourself.

Health care access IS NOT the same as health care INSURANCE.

    TrueRox...

do you not comprehend the idea that INSURANCE grants ACCESS? Having no insurance is a 100% chance you get shoveled with massive debt in the ER and crippling yourself with out of pocket costs for even just a regular check up.

Actually, no it doesn't. Access to health care depends on the availability of services, not on the number of people covered.

You're so caught up in your political BS that you've failed to understand that an inability to pay for something restricts your access to it. That's pretty straightforward smart guy.

You're not an expert but you know what you're talking about except when you don't know what you're talking about.

Name one additional vote Ted Cruz's strategy has gotten for defunding.

    That was a campaign quote.

    Not true.

Do you know how legislation works?

If you are poor, the lack of insurance is what inhibits your ability to access everything but emergency care.

Premiums have increased the last few years at the lowest rates in decades. Nice try, though.

    Not true.

Then why say these are changes since 2009? But let's accept that. You're saying that, because of Obamacare, insurers are jumping off the exchanges that didn't exist before Obamacare?

Yes, in part because 22 states are not expanding Medicaid - a choice that was not intended until the Supreme Court's random ruling.

    Your own link shows otherwise.

If you bother to read the context of the quote instead of relying on nonsense sources, you'd see Baucus never called the legislation a trainwreck. He said Republican attempts to prevent it from being implemented properly would cause a trainwreck.

Please, point us to all these facts and horrible consequences. It's not getting repealed. It's not getting replaced. If the GOP would stop obstructing everything, it could certainly be improved. The world isn't ending. The health care system will be just fine.

Just because you can pay for it, doesn't mean there are enough services available. What good is it to have health insurance when there is only 1 primary physician in your entire county? That doesn't guarantee you health care access. You're better off going to the Emergency Room.

Is that not common sense? An expert knows about EVERYTHING on the issue. I only know the general overview and specifics about the policy, therefore I know what I know and I don't know what I don't know. Is that complicated for you?

Wait, truerox: do you really think that Sen. Baucus called a piece of legislation that he shepherded through the Senate a "train wreck"?

Your arguments don't hold a lot of water if you fail to see that the lack of insurance inhibits access to care other than emergency services, which affects the price for the rest of us. It's really a shame that human life is such a hard thing to put a firm price on - otherwise, the economics of healthcare would be a lot more agreeable.

Sadly, this is what happens when people rely on soundbites as their news source.

Again, we aren't arguing on whether or not his strategy is working. That IS his strategy though.

Ah, so he lied before he was elected.
    True.

Good lord, I hope so, considering that my job involves it.

Not entirely. Services don't appear from thin air. Access to care has more to do with the lack of available services, notably the lack of primary physicians. The lack of primary physicians generally stems from the lack of available residency spots to graduating medical students.

Health care expenditures are rising at an unprecedented rate. Not trying anything. Fact.

Yes. True. You LOSE money on Medicaid patients. If you don't have enough real paying customers to offset those costs, you can no longer provide ANY services to that population.
That was in response to someone who brought up 2009.

They tried to subert the Constitution and were shut down. Random ruling? What's random is that the ACA was deemed Constitutional. What's random is that it was not sent back to Congress considering it originated in the Senate and the mandate was deemed a tax.

The link I provided shows polls over the last year, not the three years since passage.
Negative. His comments were in response to the confusion, not to Republican's efforts. He foresaw a "train wreck" because nobody has a clue what the hell the rules of this law are.
    Read the news.

So you think. I support the fight. I'm sorry that you expect the party who wholeheartedly disagrees with this policy move to bow down and just "take it," that's not how it works. If they are unwilling to compromise and to negotiate, there is nothing left to do but try to stop them.

I see things quite clearly. I don't believe you understand the realities of this legislation and what it means for the typical American family. I shall return tomorrow.

Love what Ted Cruz is doing. Taking a page out of Wendy Davis' playbook by drawing attention to his cause.

Not quite. This a long speech, not a filibuster. Reports are that Cruz discussed this with Reid yesterday. Regardless of what he and the other wingnuts do, the cloture vote will take place and the bill will be stripped of the Obamacare defunding and sent back to the House by Sunday.

    And so will Ted's.

In fact, he will now forever be known as the crazy that wanted to kill healthcare reform.

    Texas, you're better than that.
