Well, I don't know about demolishing...they barely beat Carolina on the road and beat J-ville who will probably go 0-16. The win against the 49ers may not look as impressive when it's all said and done.

The rest of your post is right on. Carroll and Kubiak couldn't be more different as coaches. I'll just leave it at that. :)

Only reason I'm picking the Texans is because they have a reputation for coming out strong the week after taking it on the chin (see home games against ravens and colts last year following GB and NE games respectively). Also, the seahawks have been a totally different team on the road than at home where they are basically unbeatable.

If this game is at seattle, it's over by halftime. Luckily, it isn't.

Seattle is a different team on the road, still very good but not as scary. I think the Texans surprise and win a close one. 27-24 Houston

if brown isn't back, you can expect "We took what the defence gave us", code, everything short and quick. should be fun watching seattle's cbs and lbs timing every route. =(

however, if brown plays, only newton will under perform and it's enough time to throw intermediate passes. If that happens, we wil 24 -13. No pick sixes.

overhyping the Texans after beating SEA is just as kneejerk as declaring the sky has fallen after the BAL loss.

Exactly. They'll come out focused and might actually put together 4 quarters of consistent football. If we've learned anything about this team it's that they get complacent with winning and bounce back after getting embarrassed. Last week's loss is going to light a fire and they'll probably look like an elite team again this week as usual.

I don't expect an easy win by any means, but I do expect them to win. Seattle is a different team on the road.

    Seahawks win.

Defense will eat Matt Schaub up.
Earl Thomas will be a real factor , since he doesn't have to worry about any deep balls .

Russell will use his legs this game.

Seattle's defense is scary. Best secondary in the NFL. I haven't seen Seattle's offense on the road, so I can't judge that. Just hope the Texans come to play.

That's not what happened down the stretch of last season at all.

They lost against the Vikes at home, and then followed that up by coming out flat as hell with a lot on the line vs. the Colts in Indy.

That's one example of it not happening, what about the two examples of it happening that I mentioned (games following the GB and NE smackdowns)?

Also, you could argue that they got complacent with winning 11 of their first 12 games (see letter-jacket nonsense) and that's why they lost 3 of their last 4.

No, you're right..they have done that before. It's not as if I'm not rooting for them. I just don't believe in them. I said before the season, I think the trend is down....I think what you saw at the end of last season is where it's going, and I feel like we've seen that in spades so far, despite the fact they managed to come back and win those games early.

I really want to be wrong. I watch every game with my kids.

if this team has SB aspirations I think you need to win this game at home. i think it will be close but we will.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Texans are gonna be prepared. The issue really isnt that. It is when preparation doesnt meet reality...When Matt Schaub cant complete the short to intermediate pass routes, or Foster cant get moving on the ground. "What do the Texans do then?? The Texans have yet to show me that on offense they have a plan B. Good teams game plan against Plan A, and makes sure to prevent it from happening.

    What the Seahawks will do:
    1. Single cover Andre Johnson with Sherman
    2. Double/single help against DeAndre using Browner and Thomas
    3. Take out OD/Graham with quick speedy LB help
    4. On passing plays have Arian Foster isolated with the SS.

The conventional play action, slow developing plays just dont work well with teams like the Seahawks. Atleast not early in the game.

If the Texans are gonna win this, they have to truly unleash Foster and Tate for a relentless running attack that tremendously slows down a quick, fast paced offense. No gimmick play action throws. During the first series, the OLine's goal should be to abuse the DL upfront. There really shouldnt be much need to huddle. Force them to commit 8 to the box. And every time you see 8, you send out the TE for the short routes. And every once in a while, just toss that ball to your receiver for "only him" routes. If he cant get it, no one should. This is the game I want to see the 2 RB, 1 TE, 2 WR set. This is the game that the Texans must assert themselves as a top tier run team.

No, it is not one game thing, all three games that the Texans have been played so far were not good enough to be a good team to go to SB, it is not a sky fall thing, it is just a indication that if the Texans could be good or not.

If the Texans win, it won't be by much; if the Seahawks win, it will. If the Texans win, spirits will soar; legitimacy regained. If they get blown out, it is going to get ugly. If Schaub throws a third pick six, real ugly.

8 touchdowns by Schaub, 3 picks by Jackson and 2 fumble recovery's by special teams.

Well, I do not know you can use a running attack approach. They play eight men to stop the running. A few trick play actions could work, but do not know if they are enough to win the game.
