Just curious. But i think Deng could be decent to wat the rockets need for the PF spot. Besides, he is frustrated in Chicago
Much of that frustration probably comes from lack of a new contract. Deng is extremely valuable but he's making, what?, $15 million in a contract year? He's 28 or 29 and Chicago doesn't know if it wants to tie money up in him (not re-signing him and waiving Boozer would be a big step toward freeing enough money for another young stud to run with Rose, although not quite) and if so, how much. Deng played an entire season with a bad wrist (I think it was the wrist) and still played some 39-ish minutes a game. I love coaches who run their players into the ground, then say, "Ah, he's young, he can take it" even if the player comes up lame (Yao, JVG, for example) or otherwise injured. Anyway, I don't know if we'd want to pay the price for Deng, good as he is. He could be in our system. But this is all academic anyway.
NO.... just no. Deng wasn't able to come to an extension agreement with Chicago this year meaning he's going to be testing the waters of free agency for a big pay day that he is assuming he might get. Seeing as though its highly unlikely that the big fish (Melo, Lebron, Bosh, etc.) probably wont terminate their contracts early (and if they do, they will probably be doing so to resign with their current club), Deng's name could be high on the free agent list, and a team like the Mavericks might very well overpay to get a guy like Deng. So trading for him right now is too risky given what you will have to give up to get him, and there is no guarantee that either - A. Deng would not be a liability on the defensive end at the PF spot B. He would even win that many minutes playing behind Parsons as a SF C. He would be that much of an improvement at the PF spot offensively given the role is almost strictly there to space the floor. So no Deng.
Sure. Uh, for what? A trade of Asik + Lin to make the $$$ work? No, not for either, at either's same salary. I like Deng. Remind me, is he the guy from ChiTown or SacTown? Their games seem reflective. And one guy just got what, 4/$48? So, sure, gimme Luol. But for nada. OK?
To expensive for the position. You have to take into consideration the salary the Rockets would have to cut to be able to even sign him. Think before you start a thread please.
