It's one of those questions a tiny budget creates. They are never going to generate the publicity they managed at the premiere again, they have no budget to do so. They have a very limited release, with a tiny number of theaters; any national following for the movie will have no place to go see it and it will forget about it.

So you canibilize your own theatrical totals because otherwise you kill yourself on DVD sales and downloads.

I understand what you are saying, but the problem is 90% of what was shown in the movie, I already saw or knew, so the lack of depth was the issue for me. The real problem is that the Linsanity itself is better than any movie, so the director had to in my opinion delve into stuff leading up to the Linsanity and maybe right afterwards, but it was lacking.

What's that old saying? "The sequel (or prequel, I guess) is never as good as the original."

Nothing can top actually experiencing Linsanity while it was happening. The movie may work better for people who weren't paying a lot of attention to it while it was going on.

Thanks to Nubmonger, webattorney, WaitForIt, and raskol for the reviews. And thanks to Lok for the pics.

webattorney: I also went to an Ivy League school and, as you know, there happen to be a lot of entitled-feeling people that go to them. These would be the kind of people I would expect to make the kind of racist chants that Jeremy had to endure. Some fans are rude and enjoy being rude, no matter where you go.

I haven't seen the film yet but am looking forward to watching it. I don't live close to any city it is showing in, at least not that I'm aware of, so I will probably watch it on Amazon. But as was mentioned earlier in the thread, I would go and watch it in the theater to support the film if I could.

Paul, do you live in the Sacramento area? If so, they are trying to put together a screening through Tugg.com http://www.tugg.com/events/5700
They are still short 44 attendees and have 24 days to meet the quota. Won't cost you anything if they don't sell enough tickets at the deadline.

No. I used to live in the Bay Area and love Davis and Sacramento, but I'm on the East Coast now in a smaller town in Pennsylvania. Little chance we'll get the movie here.

Good luck to you, though. I hope you guys are able to get a screening. Sounds like you're in pretty good shape!

That makes sense. I am not so far away from Philadelphia but I'm not particularly close, either. I don't think that's a likely scenario for me. But I still might go online a purchase a Philadelphia move ticket to the screening if any are left (and if they are available online), just to support the film.

    Thanks for the info! :)

I've seen the movie earlier in SF at CAAMfest 2013, after I realized that there is changes in the final version from previous one, I purchased it from amazon.

The current version actually is a little different from the previous one. There are a bit more footage of their family film and behind the scene stuff, and cut down a little bit of game scene, it feels more smooth and cohesive, and also more interesting to fans like me, whom pretty much seen all his highlight already. Yet my family enjoyed it too, they are not basketball fan, and wasn't really following the team and Jeremy, but they were able to enjoy the movie the whole time.

I like his father's hook shot, looks funny. :) And sure Jeremy has a very close family. Seeing him singing Karaoke with his family is so different from him singing for the knicks team, you can really tell that he is a very camera shy person.

I'm biased, so I'm not going to give out my score for the movie.

After trying for 2 days I give up... using a VPN to access Amazon is not enough, it also needs an USA credit card :(

The La Mirada, California, Tugg event is now sold out. No more seats are available at the theater.

The Hampton, Virginia, Tugg location created by Jeremy's cousin Amy Lu has not yet reached its threshold, but its halfway there with 57 tickets sold and 47 more needed by the Sept 27th deadline.

However, there's an article that states that the theater there will carry the film. I'm not sure if its referring to the Tugg event that still needs tickets, of if Jeremy's parents have reached a separate agreement with the local theater there to have it shown regardless of whether it reaches the threshold. Evidently, the location holds sentimental value to the couple.

    Complained and got money back.
