Kubiak isn't going anywhere and neither is Schaub. I'm not even sure a 6 & 10 season would convince Uncle Bob to clean house.

    No accountability!

A loss to Baltimore on the Road and everyone is panicking. This was never a "gimme" game. Duane Brown being out was huge.

Because going 2-1 means it's time to fire everyone. Man just think if last year when the Ravens visited the Texans and were dominated...just think what would have happened if they fired Harbuagh and Schaub...

Well Joe Marciano should be fired after every game regardless of the outcome. Ever since the NFL banned more than 2 players forming a line on special teams he has consistently coached us into one of the worst ST units in the league.

I'd fire the special teams staff and Ed Reed.

I agree with you, but Baltimore did fire their OC mid-season, something that doesn't happen in Houston.

Seahawks are a completely different team on the road.

The 9ers were just demolished by the Seahawks and just gave up a TD to the Colts. 9ers by your standards are about the same tier as the Texans since they were also blownout in a game as well. The only reason anyone would put them above the Texans as of today is because of what they did last year...which would be silly.

Green Bay just lost on the road @ Cincy. Bengals have a tough, tough D.

Rodgers stat line? 26/43 for 244 yds, 1 TD, 2 INTs.

Schaub is nowhere near as good as Rodgers, yet elite QBs (just like game managers) MUST have adequate protection in order to be effective. I watched the entire Packer game and Rodgers was running for his life most of the game. His O line is terrible.

That said, we've seen how capable he and Schaub are when given time to pick apart secondaries. Obviously, Rodgers is elite while Schaub is above average for what this team needs.

The real story here, which few are talking about, is the ineffectiveness (and inconsistency) of our offensive line -- especially in pass protection. Zone blocking in the run game is also lacking. The issues with our line are related to injuries and personnel changes (inexperience, free agency losses, etc).

Rick Smith really must address the O line in free agency and/or the draft next year. While he's at it, maybe he can also land an elite NFL head coach. Of course, he's gotta have McNair's blessing when making this type of next level move.

Not much really changed. Even if we fire the OC what will change? We'll still be a conservative run first team. You especially wouldn't fire your OC when you're missing your franchise LT.

We really need a new RT. Newton is trash. It's plain as day. He's had more than enough time to prove himself and he isn't getting it done. It's time to move someone up or do something because he sucks.

Also ST have been a BIG problem. Our returns suck. Not sure I'd blame Joe on this one...I mean what was Keo doing? Look back at the return, Keo had NO ONE in front of him and is taking a ANGLE when all he has to literally do is stand in front of the guy to get him to fair catch it.

It was the most perplexing thing I've seen all game.

If the Texans fail to make the playoffs, then Kubiak should most definitely go. I would even say if we can't get out of the second round again, he should go. But I doubt anything would compel McNair to fire him. And if he did, I would bet Wade would get the job. So we're stuck.

Our only hope is that this team is saving their best football for the second half of the season.

I actually follow the Ravens. They had OLine injuries too. And they went more no huddle. There was an adjustment period, but it obviously worked out for them in the end. Are you arguing that firing the OC was the wrong move for the Ravens and that bringing in Caldwell had no impact on them winning the Superbowl? I disagree there.

This doesn't mean that firing the OC here would impact positively in the short or long run. I thought the coach should have been replaced a long time ago. I'm not arguing that it's the right thing to do in Houston. My only point is the Houston organization does not hold their coaches accountable for failure in the same expedient manner that other Superbowl winning teams do.

The Texans are doing exactly what superbowl winning teams do. They keep their coaches. Patience in the NFL is better than impatience.

I don't agree that Kubiak should have been fired. It's SILLY to fire a coach that is taking your team to the playoffs. As long as a coach does that he should always be safe. The teams that overreact are the teams that are constantly at the bottom of the barrel. People expect to win every year or get better, but in the NFL making the playoffs is ALL that matters because if you continue to get a shot at it, you eventually will get to the superbowl.

Just look at the history of teams that constantly change coaches, the ones that DO win have stability. Every time you bring in a new coach you HAVE to change personel. Sometimes drastically. Fire Kubiak and Watt may be less of a player, Foster may be useless, oh and what if we go to a power run scheme? Need a new center, new guards...if the new coach wants a 4-3...more changes. This is why the Raiders continue to suck, because they change their coach every two years.

The Steelers are the most successful team in the NFL right? How often do they change coaches?

McNair is doing it right. Unless Kubiak is going 6-10 every year, Kubiak keeps the job. If Kubiak is continuing to win division titles and making the playoffs no way he should lose the job. Too many variables in the NFL to put the entire record on the coach for every playoff failure.
