Stopping elite QB's, the depth in the secondary (Ed Reed coming back obviously helps)

    Best O Line in football
Outstanding 1-2 punch at HB, WR and TE
    Above average QB play

One of the best Dlines in football
    Above average LB play
Above average Corners and Safeties. Swearinger and the improvement of Keo have helped

I don't think Schaub and/or Kubiak is a top shelf performer; however, I agree that it likely comes down to defense. Also, who is in your way? New England looks a bit shaky. We will see about the Ravens today, but they don't look particularly scary. Green Bay might be a problem. Seattle looks scarier than SF, but that game may not be representative. Denver is likely the biggest obstacle, BUT I think we match up pretty well against them. This may be the year.

    1) Injuries (same as all teams)- We have plenty of talent and we need our main guys on the field.

    2) Coaching- Kubiak being conservative and lack of adjustments/flexibility. Wade needs to disguise blitzes more and try to confuse QBs.

    3) Schaub- Dude isn't very clutch in big games and plays scared too often. He has shown some improvement the 1st 2 games... even showed some playmaking ability.

All those coaches are better than Kubiak. Most are significantly better.

Coaching. Knowing when to be aggressive and when to play conservative, especially in the postseason. It comes down to the little things.

Also, Special teams is pretty big and our Special teams have been sub-par for the most part. I won't judge Bullock after 2 games but having a reliable kicker is important obviously.

Only themselves stand in the way. They have the talent and a weakened AFC.

If Shaub can't win against a sorry ass injured, beaten Ravens teams without Ray Rice and others, Shaub sorry ass has to go seriously. He couldn't even a score a single damn touch down with all those weapons on our team. So damn embarrassing.

    schaub defenders be like..

we need the defense to keep brady, rodgers, brees, manning kaepernick, wilson to 0 points...
run game needs to average 10 ypc..
o-line needs to give matt 9 seconds to operate, also must be able to block 6 pass rushers with 5 guys

if all these things happen, schaub is good enough to win a superbowl..

The problem is that Schaub always looks just good enough to keep his job. These cardiac comebacks are nice and all, but he just simply does not get the job done against good teams. The common denominator here is the opposing team's pass rush. Schaub is just very bad when placed under any kind of pressure, and most decent teams in the NFL generate a good pass rush one way or another. Hence the results we see of Schaub struggling against good teams.

i'm willing to bet the Texans go .500 against "good" teams. which is the average for other good teams.
