(It doesn't matter if they have Tom Clancy on there, that article method is credibility killer.)

That article was written on September 6, probably before he was bleacher-ed ;).

I don't understand what the difference is between someone quoting a writing from BR or writing a post themselves on CF. It's all the same - opinions. If the opinion is good, why not?

They might have a good opinion now and then, but not enough to give it merit. Its like the difference between professional singer vocalists and karoake night. Sure once in a while theres a good voice in karaoke, but its generally a bunch of amateurs faking it.

The problem is people still see articles from websites as CREDIBLE JOURNALISM. When BR has little journalistic integrity. But people will take it as an "official word" instead of it being random opinion like anyone else.

Then Bleacher Report is ad clicks page views GIMMICK and everyone knows it. The articles are both diluted and stretched out too thin, not content rich at all. Then its cumbersome on reader to navigate the thinned out content. They kill the content by default where it cant be taken as serious.

And of course the worst thing about that is they dont HAVE to be RIGHT. They can post false unsubstantiated BS , sleazy tabloid style meant to pull you in for the WRONG reasons. They can deliberaty TROLL you in.

If people could see the difference and consider the sources, then it is not an isssue if everyone knows what theyre getting.

But I dont want to read a thread title of how Dwight will cause Rockets to implode on itself and "Houston you have a problem". And you assume its from a well sourced place, but its actual some goober who only wants you to click 15 slides

If you have an opinion you post on CF.net -- even if it's a dumb one -- we can have a conversation about it because there's a relationship of sorts between us as members of the site. I can highlight flaws in your logic, I can challenge your recollection of the facts, I can dredge up things you said 8 years ago in a different thread, and you can respond in kind. If I reply to you about some other guy's opinion, how can we have a conversation when I'm really reacting to that other guy? An article can be a jumping off point for a conversation, but ultimately I'm interested in a conversation with you and with the other members here. Whether the article is insightful or dumb, the author isn't here to converse with.

Now, an insightful article is still preferable to a dumb one -- it can launch a good conversation among posters -- but that's not really in the BR business model. Sure, they're trying to seed their material now with respected writers, but the point of the site is to give every fan a forum to write. You can't do that and keep the material at a high level.

Interesting, thanks. Hope it works out for him. Saw last year he had switched from the Knicks to the Nets beat. Neither of those teams can be any fun to cover. Unlikable and ineffective owners, overpaid and underperforming teams.

Sorry, but Bleach Report is still Bleacher Report. It's gonna take a decade of good insight to gain any sort of respect. Until then, it's the poorman's ESPN.

That's an interesting hire. Bucher covers mostly Bay Area/NorCal sports. I sense the Warriors are going to get a lot of media love. Maybe Jason Friedman might get pulled away to cover the Rockets on a national level. :)

Woj is certainly the best at breaking NBA news but his articles are always a little to dramatic for me
