Depends. Ainge wants to tank without admitting it. Morey claims he has more interest in scoring point guards. If that isn't a red herring, we're out. You'd need a risk taker with a strong coach. A team that already has scorers but needs more defense... hmn...
Teams that make sense would be the Kings, Pistons, and Jazz in my opinion. Young teams that have some solid pieces in place but no real leader/floor general.
It would seem Houston would be a decent fit, given that they have their own pick, a handful of second rounders and some prospects. Defensively Rondo would be great here, but I think three-point shooting is critical and defenses can sag off Rondo. What about a 3-way trade sending him to Indiana involving Granger? That would be a scary defense with Hibbert, George and Rondo. Mavericks I could see being a possibilty. "Maybe" Memphis, Toronto, Denver and the LA Lakers.
You may be right, but I tend to think rebuilding teams would stay away from him (he's a headache) unless they were trying to make a strong leap forward now. It would seem rebuilding pieces are what it would take to give up to get him. Pistons and Kings may qualify, though I'd hate to coach Cousins and Rondo on the same team. I think teams on the bubble looking to contend or contenders looking for a jump up are the best bets to want him. basketballholic is right though in that there are a lot of good point guards in the league right now.
Very good points. A strong head coach would most likely be a necessity. Of the contenders/playoff teams, Pacers make a lot of sense if they can unload Granger. The Hawks seem like a spot he could excel in. Definite upgrade over Jeff Teague and Horford/Millsap is a good big man combo for him, though they'd still be probably a 5 seed at best. Then maybe the Knicks? Maybe? It'll be interesting to watch.
I'll give up Jeremy for him in a heartbeat. His handles and passing are one of a kind. Also, he doesn't give enough credit for being clutch. He's hit some game-winners and crucial shots. Paul Pierce is mainly known for being clutch, but Rondo deserves some cred.
how about Westbrook for Rondo and Celts throw in some draft picks Westbrook will be averaging 28+ ppg and be a MVP contender Rondo will help out Durant a ton
I like that. I think Westbrook is actually harming Durant's game. He could easily average 36 ppg if Russell didn't have so many jealousy issues.
Isnt this a downgrade though? If Okc wanted to unload WB they could have done that and kept Harden. Anyway there isnt really a good market for 10M pgs, not when there are a lot of max pgs and a glut of solid pgs for much cheaper.

Monta and Calderon and 3 middle of the pack #1 picks and take back a bad contract or two with Rondo?????? Anybody got any other suggestions on how Dallas can give Boston more value??
The Houston fit: As some have already mentioned, this Rockets team needs accurate shooters. And having Rondo and Harden on the court at the same time, would completely render Harden useless as an initiator of offense. And that would be like trying to pair Nash with Kobe and Howard... and we all witnessed that disaster...Beverly and Lin surprisingly works in this offense, bc they arent called to be true PGs on this team; they just have to find ways of being serviceable. The Dallas fit: This is a bit more intriguing. However, they have to admit that signing Calderon or Ellis was a fail by management. The Mavericks with a trio of Rondo, Dirk and Ellis would be a very high scoring trio, but i dont know what kinda bench they would be left with. The Indiana fit: This would be the most ideal situation for Rondo. He would get to work with a dominant big and efficient jumpshooting PF. He would also have the keys to run the offense. A combo of Rondo, George, Hibbert, and West would be terrific, and they would be a true threat to dethroning the Heat in the East...But the would have to trade with a third party: Danny Granger and multiple future picks...
There's no great trade anywhere. I think the closest may be with Indiana (and Granger). Unless Boston is willing to accept less, I'm not sure. I don't know what Boston is looking for either. Draft picks? Cap room? Young players? All of the above? Do the Celtics want Jeff Teague or George Hill at $8 million for four more years? Celtics might ask for Horford from Atlanta. They won't do that. Knicks have nothing. Do the Celtics want Chandler($14 mil - this year and next) or Bargnani($11 mil this year, has an ETO next year)? Revive the Gasol for Rondo rumors! Does LA take on Rondo, knowing he cuts into their 2014 FA plans(whether you or I believe in them or not)? And then, what to do with Nash? I'm just playing with the trade machine but Gasol and Nash(2 more years) for Rondo(2 yrs), Humphries and Crawford? Seems unlikely. Mavs have nothing. Marion for Rondo? Money works but Boston ain't doin' it. Boston probably doesn't want Calderon or Ellis. Brandan Wright? Vince Carter? Sam Dalembert? Exxxaccttttly. Already mentioned Granger and Hill for Indiana. Does Boston want Hill for four more years at $8 million? Granger and Rondo both coming off injuries or recovering. Granger is expiring. I'm not sure what Detroit sends Boston. They have a few large expiring contracts in Villanueva and Stuckey. Boston probably wants their hands on one of those bigs(Drummond or Monroe). I don't think Detroit does that.
