It was far from HD. It was analog routed through three VCRs submerged in a bathtub. But at least I could get it.

This is great news! This means that when watching VLC of the games all year long, we should actually be getting the Rockets announcers instead of the crappy announcers for the other teams! One more step in the right direction!

    Question:

So, as I am moving to a new apartment and can now choose between Comcast and Uverse (which I now have) and whomever else (but I won't choose a provider that involves putting in a Dish, etc)...

    Are my choices still:

    • Get Comcast, which sucks, but you get all Rockets games;
    • Get Uverse, which I like, but which currently doesn't offer Rockets games beyond ESPN / ABC / TNT...., and hope that the a-holes at Comcast and Uverse and all the rest make a deal soon?

NBA League Pass; doesn't that not help me with Rockets game, living in Houston? Wouldn't they still be blacked out?

Forgive if the answer to my question(s) is/are "why don't you read this thread?"

I've read the thread but sometimes you miss a post here and there.

I WANT MY ROCKETS GAMES, DAMMIT!

    This is stupid.

Clutch has no influence on which ads AdSense put on this site. He can block certain ad networks if problem ads show up, but that has nothing to do with which ads show up on ad networks that are allowed thru.

Why should the site take an official position on this? Comcast and NBC Universal dont give a crap what a community of online fans think, nor do they care if the owner of said site is against it(for the record, Clutch is as pissed about this as the rest of us).

If you dont understand what you see(how ads are chosen and displayed on websites that have them), try not to have an opinion on the subject. Especially when you have the gall to accuse Clutch of being "bought out".

    thats just insulting.

If have to change anyway and you're dead set against Dish or DTV, you may as well just get comcast. Sadly, that's what I would do in your situation.

But as far as SWITCHING to comcast.....NEVER.

Even if a deal isn't reached for this season.....and you don't have the time or energy to mess with the internet feeds....you will still get 1/4th of the games because of all the nationally televised games this year.

Certainly MUCH better than last year.

If you're gonna insult a group of people, at least do it right. Saying that you "could care less" means that you do care what us "sensitive girls" think. You meant to say couldn't care less.

Blaming Clutch for the Comcast situation, while you're using his site for free? That's weak, bro.

I've had both Comcast and Dish. Comcast wasn't bad... Dish is just better.

I mean, you get pretty much all the same channels between the two. The difference is that Dish is a lot cheaper and has better hardware. Meaning, the DVR box from Dish (The Hopper), is a much better system to use.

Although I admit I have not used Comcast's new HD DVR box they came out with.

But as far as watching TV goes... channels are channels. Most of the channels are going to be the same.

It has more to do with not paying my new apartment complex XYZ dollars for me to install a satellite dish.

I'll probably stay with Uverse. I'll miss so many games, but I don't often hear, "Yeah, Comcast is just GREAT...and their customer service? s******t, you'd swear they hire MIT grad students..."
