This is what I was exactly saying......this is a business $$$$$ is the motivation. You could honestly compare lin and Beverley situation to bud and Parsons....what is the difference?

 

1. Harden
2. Howard
3. Lin / Parsons (better creator vs better off-the-ball scorer)
4. Everyone else that is put in position to score from Harden/Lin's playmaking, Howard's kick-outs from the double teams, and the extra passes swinging the ball to the open man + Asik/Smith/DMo at the rim
5.

Regarding 4) that's why Morey got every shooter he can get at the vet or rookie min., and that's why we need two playmakers that are good at finishing at the rim / making passes to shots at the rim

 

He has always had a target on his back. If you've been reading the GARM for the last 4 months, you'd know this.

 

Yes, Cal alum, and yes, there are elements in Lin's game that were very similar to KJ's game in college. Pull up unorthodox but high accuracy midrange jumper, not quite NBA 3-point range early in their careers (though Lin seems to be overcoming it quickly, and KJ certainly did at the end of his career), and the outstanding quickness so fast that they don't need to fake/crossover because they can just blow by you, especially going right. Lin is bigger than KJ and is a better defender (though KJ was good), but KJ was a bit quicker and had a deadlier shot early in their careers. KJ was also a better free throw shooter, at least early in their careers. KJ also had the chance to develop at a younger age playing heavy minutes by age 22.

 

I've been here way longer than you have, so I sure as hell know how much respect this forum gave Lin prior to joining the Rockets when he exploded with the Knicks.

I also know your behavior is what makes Lin a target.

 

I knew it. You can never trust the age of those foreign players. Hakeem, Mutombo, Yi, etc. They all move their age.

 

well things like this just put more pressure and expectations on lin, it's only good if lin can live up to it. I don't believe he will, but i will cheer for him just like i do everyone else this season, and i will call him out just like everyone else, if he starts to suck it up.

 

Doesn't really seem fair that being annoyed by a fan would make you target the player. Of course, Lakers fans are so annoying that I've migrated to a rather irrational dislike of the entire team, so there is that.

Still, maybe there is a solution to this conundrum. The internet equivalent of picturing your audience naked to avoid stage fright...sorry, I suddenly realize that was not a pretty picture to paint on a web forum.

What we clearly need here is the forum equivalent of Oprah, or Dr. Phil, or Jerry Springer. Someone to set us on the path to freedom and righteousness.

I'd offer my services, but I just pictured everyone naked and at this point there is no freaking way.

 

Why are we fighting over both people? Lin is a great point guard, and Bev is a great backup. In time, Bev will develop, but Lin is the better player now, so you play with him. Who knows. In two years, maybe Bev becomes the better cheaper option, but right now Bev has trouble staying out of foul trouble!

 

Go continuously talk about how awesome and amazing your beloved movie is amongst your family and friends. See how long it takes before one of them points out the flaw of that movie.

 

That would be annoying were it the case. It's more like people start talking about basketball and idiots come out saying how Lin sucks and is garbage again and again until it compels any fan of Lin's to try to shut that dude up, only to have people it's the people defending Lin that causes the problem.

 

What we all need is take a step back from our keyboards, breathe in some fresh air from outside, and wait for the season to start.

We should be discussing our bench and worrying less about our solid starters - Lin, Harden, Parsons and Howard.

Good point, but it goes both ways. If you keep on complaining how the movie sucks, doesn't worth anything, everyone in it is rubbish. See how long it takes before one of your friend starts to defend the movie.

There are always extremists who fanatically try to praise/trash the players they like or dislike. The rest of the forum needs to be rational, tolerant and .... ignorant of these people. If some random guy on the street babbling how good or bad a movie is, do you really want to argue with him? Just move along and spend your time on something that is worthy to respond.

 

This is the thing that annoys me the most. I've seen a lot of posters moving away from the GARM and going to the hangout and nba dish because if it.

Let's forget about Lins fan..
I get mad at Kobe, MJ, and Lebron fans too... They are all great players so when I do meet one of their annoying fans, I just tend to argue against them and shut them up for a while.

It's the fans constantly claiming things that are not true or trying really hard to make their opinion a fact that makes me mad and that is the reason some dislike Lin.

For example: "Lin is better than Harden, give him the ball." Or "Bev only has half a season, he shouldn't start over Lin cause he is better".. It's all opinion... Matter of fact, Lin only played half a season for $25 mil contract.

 

Kam you got it all twisted. It's ok though, we all make mistakes.

 

These so called critics only came about after the high praise for Lin began without him doing anything just yet. Rockets fans want what's best for the team and what will help win a championship whether it's Lin or not.

Personally, I used to dislike Lin but after I moved away from garm, I respected him
