If Teodosic was playing, Spain would love to play Serbia. They already declared how much they want to revenge Serbia for Teodosic's game winning 3 couple years ago.
i guess im the only one that noticed but dmo was dropping the F bomb after that dunk... lol "thats not a fing foul" lmao
Don't count us out just yet...we played the best basketball when it mattered the most (Spain, Italy and Greece). Dragic is in hell of a form and it seems like we know how to beat teams with great PGs (Bellinelli, Spanoulis and Rubio+Calderon).
Tough to win when your #1 option goes 1/6 from 3. You would think he would be a little gun-shy from 3 after going 8/32 in the previous 8 games...
Actually can someone explain Spain's guard rotation to me. I haven't really seen them play. They have a lot of firepower, but how do the minutes work out?
Bad shooting day has nothing to do with our loss. I'm so angry I'd strangle our coach right now. We missed two layups+11 shots for 3 and we are still leading, because we have Zoran Dragic in play. What does coach do? He sits him. Joksimovic annihilated Italy's Belinelli and frustrated Greece's Spanoulis, leaving our best player (G.Dragic) fresh for offense and without any fouls. What does coach do? Leaves Joksimovic on bench for whole game, G.Dragic gets tired guarding Parker and gets 4 fouls. Lakovic, who is old and his best years are behind him, gets all the remaining PG minutes. Turnovers and Parker explosion were inevitable. What does coach do? Nothing. France makes a 4:0 run, what does coach do? Nothing. France extends it to 6:0 run, what does coach do? Nothing. France extends it to 8:0 run, what does coach do? "Oh I think it's coffe time, let's call a timeout". And what does our coach say after the game? "I was saving timeouts for end of the game when the result would be close". Guess what...the result was never close again because you didn't call that timeout to stop either first or second French run. So yeah, blame it ENTIRELY on coach. France deserved to lose yesterday, but I guess our coach was being payed by French.
I've noticed that in Eurobasket teams seem to play older guys who are past their primes over young guys who are now better than them. It's like all of Europe is the Utah Jazz.
I get why D-Mo doesn't start and play huge minutes, but is Lithuania's coach not just the biggest idiot for not starting & playing Jonas V. a ton more than he does? He's clearly their best player IMO.
I just recently learned that coach is the same moron who coached China and benched Yao at one point. He's an idiot.
Just from looking at box scores it looks like Calderon and Rubio are starting and getting 21 minutes each in 9 games while Llull is getting almost 18 minutes in 8 games. Calderon continues his crazy 50% shooting from 3pt (19/38). 8.7 pts 1.6 reb 2.7 ast 1.1 to Rubio 7.9 pts 3.0 reb 3.3 ast 1.1 to Llull 5.1 pts 1.6 reb 1.5 ast 1.3 to You can check results, box scores and play by play here: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/9607237/2013-eurobasket-schedule
Speaking of the coach. The Italian coach is clearly out-coaching the Lithuanian coach right now despite the lead Lithuania has by getting a switch on Lithuanian's bigs on the defensive end for mismatches leading to perimeter shots. -Oh... and D-Mo is in the game and immediately missed a gimme layup.
....and that will probably do it for D-Mo today... on the bench and getting an earful from the coach.
40-39 Lithuania at the half. Pretty good game so far, but Lithuania shouldn't have let it get this close. Def the style of basketball where a guy like Bellineli looks like a church-league Micheal Jordan.
