When former NBA star Gilbert Arenas isn’t touting around absurd amounts of illegal fireworks, he’s apparently working on his game, at least according to Hoopsworld’s Alex Kennedy.

Kennedy said today that the former Arizona Wildcat has been hoping to return to the league, which he’s been out of since 2012, and he might get that chance with the Los Angeles Clippers who are apparently open to giving him an opportunity during training camp.

    Per Kennedy:

I’m hearing that Gilbert Arenas has looked good in workouts this summer. The Clippers may invite him to training camp, according to sources.

Arenas, who has only played 17 NBA regular season games since the 2010-11 season (and averaged just 12 minutes in those contests) would likely find it difficult to crack the Clippers roster, assuming he was even given the opportunity.

Still, just 31, it’s possible he still has a bit of run left in him.

The three time NBA All Star would make the Clippers his fifth team, if he was able to somehow play his way onto the team – that’s again assuming he even gets an invite to training camp.

The Clippers already have their dark alley hockey goon in Barnes. Now they want to throw Arenas in the mix as well??? Might as well bring back Lam Lam Kardashian as well to make it a good ol Hollywood B-movie soap opera.... with a little hood flavor.

I don't like the idea of it... I don't hate the idea of it...

The bottom line is, this is what you can do when you have a strong coach in place. Experiment with talented players that few other coaches are confident enough to deal with.

He seems to be in great shape from what I've seen. Tbh I would take a Arenas+Harden backcourt over Lin+harden every day of the week. I think this could a low key valuable pick up for the Clips.

If he isn't fat like he was his last few seasons, maybe he can carve out a role coming off the bench.

Say what you want but dude still has game and his ability to hit open shots from deep makes him a way better fit than Lin.

Dennis Rodman could use a team as well.

He would be a decent 3rd stringer if healthy.
