Apparently, this show took off in a different course than the book. There was no mini-dome with an egg inside. There was no monarch. Angie died in the beginning of the book. The events in the book only lasted 6 days, I think. And making it up as they go along is what happened to Lost so I don't think that'll be a good idea if they don't know how it's gonna end or what they're even doing.
I kept watching it, i thought they should have just ended it last week. King said all the changes in the show appear to be out of necessity, to keep the story going longer because the book only lasts a few days. Next season should decide the future of the show.
So do they explain what caused the dome in the finale or not? I have 3 episodes on my DVR that I just can't force myself to watch. If they don't explain what the dome is in the finale, I'm just going to delete the episodes and season pass. Poor character development, really bad acting, bad writing, just horrible execution. Can't believe this show is rated so high.
Technically, they have a guess as to what is causing it, but they dont know why. I would think they need to drag that out over 2-3 seasons.
The CBS Time Warner tiff kept me from watching it since the beginning of August. TW on demand didn't offer all the episodes I missed so I gave up with little to no fight, no big loss. Anyone watch it from start to finish care to weigh in?
Horrible acting, wacky storyline, main protagonist seems to know how to do anything and everything at any given time, and that one girl with the giant forehead, underground fight club and gambling center created after 2 weeks under the dome (What?), and main antagonist that kills everyone and everything.
Bottom line: Don't waste your time on a poorly written show with mediocre acting, no direction and limited potential. On top of that, the finale was a giant lemon. It was barely worth watching during the summer TV drought. The fall lineups begin next Monday. It will be as if Under the Dome never existeed.
Thanks for the heads up, I'm just going to ignore it and be glad I didn't waste much time on it. I saw the preview for the one with the fight club, just that gave me a strong impression the show was crap...
It really depends on what you look for or what you can bear. It is a very silly show, and I get quite a bit of fun snark-watching and then going to the AVClub boards to read all the other snark filled comments. ymmv, I happen to like watching cheesy shows that I can riff on...(huge fan of Rifftrax/mst3k) for imadrummer or anyone else wondering....they are tryin to hint at aliens being responsible, but I suspect that will be a red herring since that is the explanation in the novel and King already said they had changed the ending(amongst other things) for the series.
