Talk about the series here. Please no PBP in this thread. Unless otherwise noted all games are on CSN-H (for about 40% I guess). 9-16 Johnny Cueto, RHP vs. Erik Bedard, LHP 7:10 9-17 Mike Leake, RHP vs. Jordan Lyles, RHP 7:10 9-18 Greg Reynolds, RHP vs. Brad Peacock, RHP 7:10
Read earlier today that the Reds are the team the Astros have played the most games with over their history.
Well, I have a reason to follow the Astros. Nats 4.5 games behind the Reds for the last wildcard! Huge long shot of course, but it would be nice if the Astros could help keep me interested in the season a day or two longer. Go Stros!
Makes sense as they were the only 2 from the old NL West that ended up in the Central. Man how I hated those late 80's/early 90's Reds teams. I wanted to punch Chris Sabo in his rec-specs.
Miami: 55-94 Houston: 51-98 If Miami loses out, they'll end up with 107 losses, so our tragic number (combination of Miami wins or Houston losses) is 9 with 13 games to go for both teams. If both teams end up with 107 losses, according to Wikipedia the previous year's standings of the two teams is the tiebreaker, with the team having a worse record receiving the higher pick. Go 'stros!
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to juicystream again. More MiLB titles, please!
Ugly game last night. It was 4-0 last night. I was sitting by behind the bullpen. I thought the situation was hopeless. I hear a pitcher start to warm up. I look over and see it is Harrell. Amazingly, there was still a small bit of hope in my heart that was crushed in that moment. P.S. Haven't sat in the outfield in a while. Are the vendors generally that slow in the outfield sections? Only one person in front of me to get a beer and I still missed some game action.
What time do the astros typically take BP? I wanna get out there and get a few autographs if possible and just chill before the game. Thanks in advance
Wait - teams are allowed to practice hitting prior to games? Has anyone notified the Astros? Sorry, I can't provide any useful information. A few years back when I went to many more games than I do now, I remember they had a policy regarding when they opened the gates. If memory serves me correctly, and it rarely does not, I'd guess that was 2 hours before first pitch.
Last year, I got no Astros and all Reds at BP (Brandon Phillips made the Crawford boxes his b****. Very scary sitting up there with how hard those balls were hit). Was very disappointing. Did see Astros BP at Turner Field though (I swear we hit maybe 2 HR during BP).
Going to my first Astros game in 3 years tonight. Is the beer still served cold? Have a feeling I'll need it... At least I get to see a national league team like it used to be.
