I have been messing around with a new graphics package since yesterday. I thought I would share some of the early. I posted it in the GARM because it is after all about the Rockets last season. Plus it is fust fun to look at.

    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://public.tableausoftware.com/javascripts/api/viz_v1.js"></script><div class="tableauPlaceholder" style="width:663px; height:437px;"><noscript><a href="#"><img alt="Rockets Offense " src="http://public.tableausoftware.com/static/images/te/test2_73/RocketsOffense/1_rss.png" style="border: none" /></a></noscript><object class="tableauViz" width="663" height="437" style="display:none;"><param name="host_url" value="http%3A%2F%2Fpublic.tableausoftware.com%2F" /><param name="site_root" value="" /><param name="name" value="test2_73/RocketsOffense" /><param name="tabs" value="no" /><param name="toolbar" value="yes" /><param name="static_image" value="http://public.tableausoftware.com/static/images/te/test2_73/RocketsOffense/1.png" /><param name="animate_transition" value="yes" /><param name="display_static_image" value="yes" /><param name="display_spinner" value="yes" /><param name="display_overlay" value="yes" /><param name="display_count" value="yes" /></object></div><div style="width:663px;height:22px;padding:0px 10px 0px 0px;color:black;font:normal 8pt verdana,helvetica,arial,sans-serif;"><div style="float:right; padding-right:8px;"><a href="http://www.tableausoftware.com/public/about-tableau-products?ref=http://public.tableausoftware.com/views/test2_73/RocketsOffense" target="_blank">Learn About Tableau</a></div></div>

The bottom graph is the most interesting. It shows Drtg and Ortg for the entire league. It also has an arrow showing the Rockets expected increased success next season with the addition of Howard. IMHO

I wonder if JCDenton would approve of this

He would not. It's not sophisticated enough.

I do not know. I would expect the Rockets to probably be in the WCF. I should do a post expounding on the positive and negatives for the Rockets next season. The Howard arrow in the third graph above is my view of his contribution. There are other contributions that have occurred such as having an off season to prepare for the season as opposed to having the offensive playbook blown up 3 days before the 2012-2013 season started. Oh, and losing Delfino was probably a larger loss than most people realize.

But it should be obvious that the most important contributor above after the teams offense and defense rankings is eFG%. I should do a post on the 4F's.

LOL, I certainly agree. It took hours to get them in. I also adore the pop ups that display all of the stats. Look forward to many posts using this style of graphs in the future. I hope you enjoy.

The ability to stand out from the crowd is another advantage of the Rockets. All the other logos get obfuscated because they are so similar.
