Tonight's WWE PPV event is somewhat average but still good. Good moments Bryan wins and the title change at the end. The return of The Van Terminator by RVD is awesome. Ryback joins Paul Heyman's group. Bad moments Not many championship title changes. Ziggler gets jobbed again. Fan voting polls are rigged and fixed.
Yeah this was a poorly written PPV. Bryan won the title but it's pretty clear with the refs and the lack of interference that he's gonna be stripped. Combine that with the fact that everybody in the arena was waiting for the interference that never happened so they didn't believe the win was truly a win. Ryback should have joined Heyman originally, feels like too much damage has already been done to his character, but he certainly feels like more of a threat to punk than Axel so net positive, but I was ready for Punk to move on to something else, at least until Lesnar was ready again. Lastly I don't know how pissed management is at Ziggler, but I hope this isn't Zach Ryder permanent. I'm a fan but the WWE certainly isn't above killing a guys career just because he said one bad thing. Overall a pretty bad PPV, one title change that won't stick and not one storyline that feels in a better place than it did before.
I was at the show last night and the arena was absolutely electric for Bryan. To witness firsthand the crowd in the unison with the yes chant as Bryan enters the ring is amazing. Really shocked that Bryan got the title last night, but once they did the ref bump, brought out a new ref, only to have the original ref come back something felt off. A lot of people are talking about a fast count. I didn't pay attention to the count as I was shocked when Bryan hit his knee finisher. But it will give them a good opening on Raw to strip Bryan of the title. I can't see it going back to Orton though based on Triple H's comments to Orton at the ppv. I think we might have a vacant title on our hands. Here's hoping for a tournament of some kind.
He said more than just "one bad thing". He's been pretty consistently complaining about his place on the show, and doing so publically. Even if he's correct about his talent, it's not a smart thing to do.
Triple H throwing his weight around as the second coming of Mr. McMahon. There's no reason with the way the past month has been with the HHH dictatorship that Triple H would just allow Bryan to be champion. It's pretty clear he's going to hand the title back to Orton on a technicality or some sort of shenanigans. I don't see why else they would have Bryan win his title back. The underdog story seems premature with its climax if that's the case. Something is happening tonight. Bryan one way or another is not going to be champion by the end of RAW.
During the match the original ref got knocked out, and second ref came in and took over. Later the original ref got back up and finished the match with what appeared to be a fast count. I'm guessing they will say the ref was in no condition to finish the match. Given that and the Triple H dictator angle it all appears pretty obvious.
I'm digging the D-Bry title win, although I'm almost certain it'll be overturned, or best-case scenario, he defends against Orton at Battleground, with a ton of crazy stips that ensure Orton wins it back. (shameless self-promotion) Also, I wrote a thing on Punk and Heyman's match last night: http://chaddukeswrestlingshow.com/2...-nights-match-and-the-near-future/#more-18674 (more shameless self-promotion) The CDW blog is pretty great; it's got good news update (we filter out the crap) and analysis on all things WWE, TNA, and sometimes ROH (and ACW when I can slip it in). http://chaddukeswrestlingshow.com/
What I could see is a start of a power struggle with Vince and HHH...Vince backing Bryan and HHH trying to remove him as champ.
