So what if the police ask the individual to stop and raise his hands to control the situation. But the individual ignore orders and made the cops nervous. By the way we don't know if the cops had any ingredients to make lean. You see how stupid that come across.
Where did I say the reason he was shot was because he was black? I have no idea why the cop shot the guy. He may not have even known the fired the "tazer" which missed him completely. The police believe it was an unlawful shooting.
You are posting it in a thread about a black guy getting shot using it as evidence that the people saying to call the police were wrong. I was just asking what you believe. If you have no personal opinion on the causation being more about him running towards the police or being black, that's fine.
Well it wasn't just about the police part. It was also about the idea that Martin should have knocked on peoples' doors. The fact that he was black could have played a part in the woman calling 911 and saying it was breaking and entering, and/or the cop shooting the man who approached them, I don't know.
This is amusing! I suppose if there is an axe murderer in your house, you should keep running upstairs instead of out the door?
That's not amusing. It's standard safety tips. When being followed don't lead the person to your house. What are you talking about if someone is in your house? That isn't really applicable to someone outside your house. I've linked to several safety advisories that state you should not lead the person following you to your house.
I don't know why it's hard for you to grasp that the guy had been in an accident and had to kick his way out of the back windshield of the car. He was trying to get help. When the police arrived, he trusted that was the help he needed and ran to them.
I am not finding anything hard to grasp, I was just asking your opinion. No one KNOWS why the cop shot him. There are a few basic rules and not running towards the police at night is one of them. Unless there is an explosion behind you. Also don't make fast motions with your hands when getting pulled over. Or run towards Obama, with a chocolate shaped like a revolver for a gift.
Some sanity George Zimmerman’s Hometown Bans Guns For Neighborhood Watches The town where Trayvon Martin was killed back in February of 2012 has created new rules for neighborhood watch participants. Sanford, Florida’s neighborhood watch volunteers will no longer be allowed to carry guns, and or to actively pursue someone they think is suspicious.
I just find it hard to believe that this type of clause does not exist for every neighborhood watch association.
Not sure why, they shouldn't be precluded from defending themselves to the extent of local laws, particularly if they're accepting additional risk of physical harm that entails a security-type task. I can see the HOA making the watchmen sign a release form indemnifying the Association, but to the extent that a municipality grants concealed-carry rights I kind think it's partly for defense in residential settings or scenarios like this.
I was referring to your idea of not going home if you're being followed. Where else are you suppose to go? Run to the police station on foot?
