There are no shortcuts, either you are motivated and work to achieve your goal of losing weight, or you look for the easy way out and fail miserably.

Please people. Stop trying to find shortcuts through fad diets and "fat burner" exercises. Eat less, workout more.

Also you're going to be looking at results for losing 1-2 lbs a week to lose weight while getting nutrients and staying healthy. Its a long process. Work for it.

OT: I tore my ACL completely about two weeks back and they would not do the surgery ACL reconstruction because I have massive amounts of fluid. How did you get it down? I see no improvement in my range of motion since I got the injury to today.

This life sucks. I'm active and workout 5 times a week in addition to playing soccer. Just sitting at home is painful and I can see myself getting fat and losing muscle each day.

I'm not saying intermittent fasting is a shortcut. I'm just saying for me personally it really helped me cut down on my overall caloric intake given i wasn't eating 24/7. Which is the basic premise behind any weight gain/lose obvs

MCL is a far less serious injury than ACL. But just the usual rest, ice, keep it elevated, from memory I got prescribed some anti-inflammatories or something of that nature. From memory Gallinari, (rose?) didn't have the surgery for a while due to the same issue you've got.

It was horrible I went back to rehab/training after 3 weeks and they were like 'okay jog up and down in a line' felt like my knee was going to explode

Which is great if you are dedicated to keep on doing it.

A lot of people think these diets are some one-time only, or temporary. Then they wonder why they gain back so much weight after losing it. No matter what you do, it should be sustainable if only even partially.

The main thing is that it has to be a lifestyle change. Once you get into the groove of going for runs/going to the gym/not eating like a maniac it becomes easier, and instead of dreading working out you actually enjoy it.

my split is 40/40/20, I never really ate breakfast anyway and I just get calories around my activity levels, i.e. training at night so no biggie. Just helps me control myself and not snack too much mainly, it takes some getting used to though.

If you are really overweight, cut the carbs and walk an hour a day. Lifting is a bonus.

If you want to lose the last 10 lbs/get below 10% BF, try out Ultimate diet. The workouts are terrible on Monday and Tuesday, but nothing has worked as quickly as this for me. I am down to ~9% BF and have lost 5 lbs in 3 weeks.

Good luck! Just don't be one of those people that work out for 2 months and quit. Then six months later do the same thing all over again. If you want any kind of permanent results you gotta stick with it.

Well step one is to have a plan. You obviously have goals (slimming down) but you need to have a plan to reach those goals. If you don't have a method for reaching your goals you will be in the same spot in a few months still wanting your goal but never reaching it. Plan it out, it may be annoying at first but that is the first step to getting your body/life in order.
