Rackers has been gone since 2011. Back then, he couldn't get the ball to the goal post at 50 yards. Of course, same result with a kicker who has a leg, but isn't accurate. Graham was mediocre... about the only thing Bullock does better than all if them is get touch backs (which are huge with our return coverage).
Thanks for providing a source that doesn't make my head hurt. Another black mark on an already bad game for Schaub. A win is a win, but if he keeps playing like that, there won't be many more.
Cushing had a monster game. I think he loves playing against Chris Johnson because CJ can't break tackles. If Cushing gets his hands on him at all, it's game over.
When you come away with a win despite playing poorly enough to lose, that makes a huge difference in how your 16-game season ends up. Bad teams play great and let wins slip away from them. The defense rose up starting in the second quarter, that safety was fantastic. I was "underwhelmed" by the performance of a few players, but won't waste bandwidth about it in the wake of the win. They knew who they are. Pollard should get suspended a game for his hit on AJ (Kareem may get a good fine for his as well). I do agree at this point that players that head hunt like that should automatically miss any time that the guy they hit does. He should get a game regardless. Impressed with how Hopkins rose up when AJ when out to clinch things. I'll facetiously take all the credit because I wore his jersey to the game. 2-0 Here's hoping the team starts playing a little better in the first half.
' that 4/8 from 40 is more telling.. i dont rememebr rackers being great by any stretch.. for real though they should go get kickalicious.. lions fans are already complaining about akers and saying they need to bring him back..
And there were many other long field goals they didn't even attempt due to his weaker leg. Those attempts either came in favorable conditions or when his leg was feeling better than it did for most of the season. Gonna need to see some more "routine" fg attempts and how Bullock performs before I cut the cord with him. Even if he had made the GW today, I wasn't ready to be completely sold on him. His misses have all been of the lengthy variety.
I was right on the INT...i think Schaub blew the out and up route on the sideline...That play was a combo of a poor play selection and the receiver not adjusting to coverage...which in my opinion is really hard for a Rookie...but he stepped up big time after that play...gobbling up his man for massive yards and a game winning TD. The 5 man blitz was heavy and the double team on Hopkins was sitting on the short route; they guessed that Schaub would throw that ball, and they were right. Schaub had a total Jeckyll and Hyde performance...scary, crazy, and good... 2-0 i guess, and I ll take it.(guess what... if we lost, the Titans would sit on top of the division, but since we won we are in charge of the division this week!)
check the stats again. he was 4-8 from 40-49 (yea wasn't that great) and was 4-5 from 50+ he only missed 3 fg his 1st year. missed 6 fg 2nd year
Lechler is a beast with that punting game, I'm willing to chalk today's game up to Bullock might have taken that Texas A&M lost hard or was out with Manziel last night or just being a rookie. He will have his shot at redemption although if he fudges that up, well there are other kickers out there.
I seem to remember he had a rough stretch from a hamstring or something .. he was 90% the year before ...anyway would take him or klicious over frodo
Check out Garrett Graham's picture on ESPN... Can anyone tell me who this is? http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/13371/garrett-graham
The thing with kickers is their confidence. Once it's gone kickers are usually at a lost, look at Kris Brown. But I'm hoping Bullock pulls it together because we drafted him thinking he could be our kicker for a long time
