Charlie Strong , Chris Peterson . I really doubt Sumlin would leave due to A&M's success and the bright future in the SEC.

It must be a good feeling to know the entire city is thrilled to get rid of you. I imagine it's like the day Steve Ballmer announced his retirement and MSFT stock shot up.
Deloss gets a million dollar payout, and Ballmer increased his net worth a few hundred million. That ought to soften the blow a tad.
Yeah I didn't think he would available right away due to all of that, but I didn't realize it was 2017. Yikes. Never mind.
There is no reason why Texas should not be contending for a national title ever year due to Austin and the Texas State players.
http://www.statesman.com/weblogs/bohl-games/2013/sep/13/jamail-macks-corner/ This is part of the reason why being coach of Texas is ridiculous. Forget the stupid stuff in the article and insanity of Joe Jamail (why is he writing the football coach's contract?), but then there's this wonderful nugget: Jamail, who talks to Brown every day, said the coach hasn't lost his enthusiasm or his faith in this 1-1 Texas team. What other school does the coach put so much emphasis in keeping boosters happy?
I think Gruden would be a huge mistake for a major college program like UT (or an NFL team). There is a reason why nobody has wanted him.
The best of the pay sites, which is usually the first to break everything, says they've heard nothing about Gruden.
If you really care, pay for a subscription to Inside Texas. It's well worth it. Top 2 candidates definitely seem to be Shaw and Saban. I'm doubtful Texas could pull either at this point.
I hate to say this, but do y'all think Texas is waiting for Jamail to pass before replacing Mack? This "good ole boy" thing is for real and I'm pretty sure Texas would miss out on some sweet Jamail money if they got on his bad side.
Two things. Why would Saban come to UT? NEVER going to happen and it cracks me up that any UT alum/fan thinks he'd leave 'Bama for the Whorns. You people don't think 'Bama has deep pockets as well? Also, there is NO way in hell UT would hire a black head football coach. They should if the right guy is available, but we're talking about UT here.
If it's just about money, I promise you UT can out pay everyone. I disagree with you on the black head football coach thing. I don't see UT having a problem with that. Far more progressive of an institution than A&M (for example) and Sumlin has been well received there.
