That's a tough call. They could both have great games. 'Which one is least likely to have a bad game?' is the question I guess. I personally would play Smith.

Though Edelman is assumed to be the primary receiver tonight, he hasn't proven that past his week 1 performance. Brady could make any of his receivers look good, haha. Edelman is definitely the favorite though.

Barring a terrible game from Flacco, Smith will take advantageof the Browns secondary. They have a great rushing defense, top 5 in the league, meaning if Rice doesn't find room to run, Flacco will end up airing out to none other than Torrey Smith this week. Jacoby Jones is out, so unless somebody else steps up, Smith will benefit greatly.

So I say Smith, but you could go with either really

 

Joe Haden is a stud CB and finished in the top 10 according to profootballfocus. Smith did have a TD against CLE last year but that was with Boldin in there, not sure who Haden was covering.

 

Same argument can be made for Cromartie, no?

 

who should i put in as my flex?

my options are pretty bad, because that position is weak..

i have reuben randle, julius thomas, pierre garcon..garcon is my flex now, but i'm really considering putting in julius thomas..

 

I'd keep Lacy. I just don't trust a team like the Colts who nearly lost at home to Oakland last week.

 

I'm torn between Roddy White and Cecil Shorts this week in a standard scoring league.

I started Roddy last week to the tune of 4 points and was lucky to pick up Shorts on waivers this week (seemed way too early for somebody to give up on him after one week). My concerns are White's health (obviously a huge factor) and the defense he's going up against in St. Louis (nothing to sneeze at).

However, Shorts plays for a genuinely terrible team who is playing another bad team this week (Oakland). I like that Henne is starting this week for Jacksonville, so Shorts will hopefully see some targets.

Both are listed as "Questionable," but Shorts feels like more of a safe bet.

 

tough call. I'd base it on your need for WR/RB flexibility. If nothing else, I'd go with Wayne. Maybe wait until Sunday?

 

In that case, I'd do the trade. You've got plenty of RB depth and a WR with Luck throwing to him is better than a WR with Tannehill or Alex Smith (short passes) throwing to him.

 

3WR, 2RB, 1flex??

Edit: Actually I would just take the trade. Both are relatively similar in trade value at this point in the season. Reggie Wayne is more established, but 1 year older. Eddie Lacy is an unproven rookie with great potential, but may not develop quickly in a pass happy offense (even though McCarthy really does try to establish a run game).

My reasoning for accepting the trade is based solely on strength of schedule. Colts have one of the easiest schedules this season and Packers have one of the most difficult schedules this season.

Then again, it's too early in the season to determine true Strength of Schedule, haha. Good luck

 

So before this trade went down somebody else decided to trade me Roddy White and Julius Thomas for James Jones and Sam Bradford. Win!

Highly likely it gets vetoed though.

 

I think I would take that. Ultimately, I don't think Green Bay is ever gonna be much of a running team. Wayne will be involved every week

 

Wow - White's a Top 10 receiver when healthy and Jones is the third option on his team. Good trade.

Yes it's true on the surface but my post was to counter your saying that Smith will take advantage of the secondary. Not entirely true once you look deeper into their games and how they play the WR position, which at this point may be unfair because we already know how Edelman played yesterday. Edelman plays the slot and with all his underneath routes he can be made to get open by being moved around pre snap. Torrey Smith is a young burner still learning the other routes.

 

Raiders secondary held up better than expected on the road in Indy last week. Andrew Luck (my starting QB) threw for less than 180 yds (7.7 yds/attempt) which wasn't what I was expecting. Now Oakland's at home with a ton of confidence.

I'd stick with Bowe (and Andy Reid) in what figures to be a higher scoring game against Romo and his weapons.

 

Yeah Im in the same situation. But I think I'll stick with Shorts. They can't possibly be any worse than last week, especially with Henne at QB instead of Gabbert. And Roddy White hasn't practiced all week. It's looking like another limited game for him.
