I love it when you're so wrapped up in football that stuff like this doesn't even blip on your radar so you're not stuck waiting for days or weeks. I was going nuts waiting on a consistent schedule for book 3, especially for that last block of episodes for the airbender finale.
Not so great but a lot of exposition. Lots of those "they should be a bad guy but it's too obvious they're being painted in an bad light" types (like Tarlokk or Jet). And Aubrey Plaza looks to be a recurring vocal talent, hubba hubba.
Korra is the most unlikable character in her own show... Why is she so disrespectful and resentful to the people that have been with her the longest? She hasn't shown much growth the last 6 months. The premier left a bad taste in mouth. I'm glad it's back though.
Yeah, I've noticed that the whole plot of both seasons hinges on Korra's impulsiveness, guess that's just the way they made her character. Anyways, I think it's gonna take 3 to 4 more episodes before she finally realizes her Uncle's plans to take over the South, despite seeing the soldiers, ships, and all.
Typical teenage girl? =D Things look too obvious right now. The writers always have a twist we don't see coming.
I hope the twist is that Korra gets killed midseason and is replaced by a much more likable earth bender Avatar.
Beginnings Pt. 1 and 2. are the first episodes in 2 seasons of Legend of Korra that have been better or on par with anything from The Last Airbender. Once again, the best episodes, thus far, have been the ones without Korra chewing up scenery. I remember the Lion Turtle being in the last episode of Last Airbender, but I had no Idea what it was, why it was giving Aang power, or where it came from. Turns out there where Lion Turtle symbols and references all over the place; I just wasn't paying attention. Beginnings shed a lot of light on the world of Avatar and it was Awesome! Don't know how The Legend of Korra is going to go up from this episode. So if every Lion Turtle possessed a power (the last Lion Turtle on Earth gave Aang the power to energy bend) what other powers did they have? Blood bending? that lightning bending/redirection? Iron Bending? or did they all just posses the the same 5 powers?
Agreed that it was the best episode of the year. Love that they made it an hour long instead of cramming it into 30 minutes.
It seemed to me that all the Lion Turtles possessed the power to give or take away one of the 4 elements, and of course being able to do so meant they could all energy-bend. The more specific bending types (blood, metal, lightning) are all just concentrated forms of the existing 4 elements. But yeah, that was an INCREDIBLE hour of animation. Finally a great episode for Legend of Korra. It is discouraging that the show always seems consistently better when its main character isn't involved. Hopefully they'll finally give Korra development that lasts so she can actually grow as a character.
Those were 2 great episodes! They said there were "dozens of lion turtles," i wonder if they had more power than just the 4 elements. You can see how everything connects with these 2 episodes. Maybe Korra can keep her amnesia and not be a B anymore. haha sucks that they're skipping a week, since they had two episodes this week.
Tell me about it. lol I really wish they would just do away with the love triangle plotline. It just makes Mako look like a douche, Asami look desperate, and Korra look clueless.
Just finished watching the 4-part season 2 finale (episodes 11-12-13-14. All are online now.) Now THAT was EPIC. The connection to her past lives being broken opens up a lot of possibilities, as does the Spirit and Physical world now being connected again. This season ended on an especially high note and I can't wait for season 3 now.
The DVR didn't pick up the 2nd hour of the finale and doesn't look like it is airing again until next Friday. I hate the way Nick Schedule's its shows. I guess have to borrow from the internet.
