From the breakfast menu at McDonalds: Egg McMuffin: 300 calories Egg White Delight: 250 calories Two totally awesome choices. If you need a little more, just add a hash brown (150 calories). To drink, grab some water or a diet soda. Because of this thread, I'm getting a couple of Egg White Delights with a diet soda on the way to work and will skip lunch.
For those talking about hamburgers and sandwiches - buns and white brea aren't very good for you at all. There used to be a Pollo Loco across from my office here in DFW - I loved that place, but they were never busy. It closed after about 2yrs. Good food, but I think nobody tried it because they thought it was just another chicken place - its not. Its South American influenced chicken and food. Good stuff. I hear this place is terrible for you though... Spoiler
Chop house on Texas toast ads grilled jalipinos. Med fry, side of jalipino ranch. The key is to skip the drink.
I sometimes get the Sweet and Sour Shrimp with steamed brown rice and extra veggies from Pei Wei and get the shrimp 'stock velveted' which basically means steamed. Really good and really filling. Too expensive though.. KFC's grilled chicken is pretty good and relatively healthy as well. Subway turkey sandwich with no cheese, mustard instead of mayo, vinegar instead of oil, pepper instead of salt, and loaded with veggies. Some baked Lays to go along with it. Very filling and pretty healthy.
not sure if your being sarcastic or not. Terrible meal + skipping lunch = completely unhealthy. Processed foods are bad enough, but add on the cheese-like substance with saturated fats and the diet soda (food for cancer cells) and your looking at some issues down the road. Diet Sodas are one of the worst things that qualify as food that you can put in your body. When you skip a meal, like lunch, your telling your body to store up fat because your not going to eat for a while. So instead of burning fat, you slow your metabolism and gain weight.
I haven't seen conclusive evidence of that. Although I have seen a lot of scare tactics and general paranoia around it
We should take on individual joints since you might be somewhere that doesn't have everything. Wendy's: grilled chicken go-wrap, aapple-pecan salad, and the chili are good choices for calorie watchers. This, by the way is an excellent site for this type of stuff. It breaks it down into calories and weight watcher points plus nutritional info. http://www.exercise4weightloss.com/weight-watchers-points.html It made me realize how much crap I've eaten over the years. Trying to do better now.
Keep your shirt on. For nutrition, it's a loser like nearly any fast food meal (which happens to be what this thread is about last time I checked). I've haven't been to McDonalds in about 6 months. But if someone doesn't have time to fix breakfast and has to skip lunch the same day, an Egg White Delight fits the bill as well as anything else. If you want to believe the diet soda is death rabble as gospel, go for it. Doesn't matter because I rarely drink soda. Lastly, skipping one meal hardly does anything to your metabolism. It's nothing to worry about at all.
I've looked up research done on aspartame, splenda, high fructose corn syrup, etc. Results are inconclusive.
Probably Subway sandwich. But then you can save $6 by making your own sandwich at home, to bring with you in a lunch box.
I went to my local El Polly Loco knock off today because of this thread to try out. Wow, that chicken was fresh, juicy, flavorful! highly recommend it! El Pollo Rico in Austin is my new chicken place
