Anyone have the skinny on Cincy's RB situation? Drafted Giovani Bernard but he didn't get many touches (behind the Law Firm). On top of that, Gruden seems to be enamored with a pass-heavy offense. Not complaining too much (also have AJ Green), but I thought they were trying to be more 'balanced' this year?
Patience. I hope it's a PPR. Gio should be fine with catches and some TDs in a PPR setting. Don't over react to one week, unless you player broke a leg or something.
A little cheat sheet to use for trades. This gets updated weekly. Gives you a rough idea if you trade is fair/good value. http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasyfootball/story/23576750/week-2-fantasy-trade-value-chart
Ok cool. Surefire starters afford you the opportunity to gamble on boom/bust with your backups. Wilson is a lock, and we know who Smith is at this point in his career. Roll those dice on Pryor.
Should I trade Steven Jackson, Roddy White, and James Jones for Stevan Ridley and Brandon Marshall Standard scoring league
Tough one. I love Marshall, but he will get fewer targets than he did last year. The Bears have publicly spoken about spreading the ball around, and Cutlers new line clearly has what it take to let him do just that. Still an elite 150ish targets, but not the nearly 200 of last season. Jackson is a much better back, and Roddy will still get 80-90 catches in the in. I'd stay pat.
Want to get some feedback on an offer I just received. Receiving Daryl Richardson+Isaiah Pead for David Wilson. My thinking is that Wilson still has more upside, but next to AP what I really need is steady, reliable production. Wilson will still get 1st & 2nd down carries despite last weeks fiasco, but with the fumble & pass protection issues he's lost goal-line & 3rd down snaps for sure. Richardson/Pead seem far less capable of monster games, but I'll typically take a consistent 10-15 fantasy points from my RB2 over bouncing between 5 and 20 week to week. Would appreciate some opinions.
Why not? I'm leaning towards accepting. Convince me not to  I see where you're coming from, but I'd still keep Wilson. He had a terrible game but he'll be fine. The Giants don't really have many other options either.
Your trade partner is trying to buy low... executing this transaction may come back to bite you later. Especially for the likes of Richardson/Pead. There's gotta be more value out there for him. This is the type of move you could still make after week 3 (all things being equal with Wilson) for what you're getting in return. Hang on to him a little longer, unless something of greater value comes along.
Sounds like Ridley may be out of Belichick's doghouse. "I talked to Stevan," Belichick told reporters Monday. "Look, every player has the same responsibility every week: to be ready to play, be ready to go. That's their job. They can't control coaches' decisions. Coaches' decisions are coaches' decisions. They control their preparation; they control their performance when they're in the game. That's what a player's job is." To Ridley's credit, he's accepted blame for the careless fumbles and is using the situation as a learning experience. "I can't make excuses, two balls on the ground is unacceptable," Ridley said, via WEEI in Boston. "I'm not going to sit on the past. I have to accept where I messed up, made a mistake and grow from it." Even so, I'm not sure I'd make this move just yet. Jackson and White will both get plenty of redzone (standard scoring) opportunities over the season; and, James Jones is still a large target (caught 14 TDs last year). My two cents.
See my previous comment. I agreed with what, though less definitively. You guys are probably right. The guy offering is a known Giants homer, but he's savy and knows I expressed interest in Richardson on draft day. It's a lot easier to stay objective with teams other than my own. I don't typically make week 2 trades, and there's little reason to start now. I'll pass for now. Thanks!
Hold on to Steven Jackson. I have him as well. His schedule should give him a solid year. Like the other guys said, that trade (Wilson for Richardson) will still be around after a couple weeks. Wilson has way more upside that Richardson. Pead is just insurance in the trade as Richardson's handcuff so it only makes sense for him to include him in the trade. Wilson doesn't have a handcuff for most of the season, making him more dangerous imo. He's got nowhere to go but up (I hope, since I friggin drafted him in the 3rd round ) I wouldn't do either one of these trades.
Extremely thin at RB (only have Foster, Gio Bernard, Tate). Could use a backup D (only have Seattle). Also, only have Jimmy Graham at TE. Need a little help on waiver wire pickups, please (standard league). Bench players (I'm considering dropping): Bernard Pierce (Bal), Brandon Pettigrew (Det), Roy Helu (Was) Available on waivers (as of this morning): RB: V. Ballard (Ind), R. Hillman (Den), M. Reece (Oak), Redman (Pitt) WR: J. Gordon (Cle), K. Britt (Ten), M. Floyd (Ari), S. Rice (Sea), Heyward-Bey (Ind), R. Randle (NYG), E. Royal (SD), J. Kearse (Sea) DEF: Carolina, Tampa, Washington, Pittsburgh, TE: Brent Celek (Phi), Dallas Clark (Bal), Zach Sudfeld (NE) Thanks, fellas.
What's the consensus feeling about Julian Thomas? I picked him up middle of last week just of potential with already having Cameron Jordan. Trying to figure out who will be better overall the rest of the season and trade the other while stock is high. I have pros and cons for both.
Same here. I'm trying to trade Cameron since he'll more than likely net the highest value. For some reason people seem to shy away from trading for waiver wire pick ups as opposed to trading for drafted players. I like both but because of that one reason I would trade Cameron first, of course, only for something of value. I have no reason to trade either for anything less than a #2 WR or RB as we can play TE in our flex spots. So it works out well for me. Good luck!
See, I would assume Thomas would have the higher trade value. He just came off a huge performance in prime time and he has Peyton, and that high-powered offense. Cameron has Weeden who I would assume most people would not think he is of high value, despite his good game week 1.
Exactly. You would think people would see it that way, but I don't mind either way as long as I get equal or above level trade value. Also I'm sure people are still weary about that fact that the Broncos have so many mouths to feed.
I would give Jordan Cameron the slight edge, especially until Josh Gordon returns. There just aren't many options in Cleveland. Norv Turner's offense also focuses on the TE and the Browns got rid of their other options at the beginning of the season. The reverse could be said about the Broncos: there are just too many options for Manning. You can't go wrong with either but I'm sticking with Cameron over Thomas.
