Man...I have the 5 and was going to wait until the 6 came out because the early rumors were that the fingerprint technology wasn't going to be acquired until after the S. This is so tempting to get the S.
haha wow $550 for the 5C off contract, why would anyone buy this over the 5 for pretty much the same price?
Why would anyone but it over the nexus 4 or heck the nexus 5 which have better hardware and are cheaper.
An unlocked iPhone 5 last year was $699, I believe. I'd imagine the 5S will be similarly priced. I think the slow motion camera will be nice. The one thing I truly love about my iPhone 5 is the camera. I know a lot of the new Android devices have stepped up their games, but the iPhone has been doing pictures right since the iPhone 4. When I compare similar shots with Android users, I can notice a difference in noise between phones. I feel confident that I'll get good shots with my 5 if I don't have my DSLR. Fingerprint scanner can be useful, but otherwise, pretty unnecessary for me. The rest of the 5S is all typical spec bumps that most won't even notice. I want to go Android, but it will have to be for the new Nexus. If that underwhelms, I'll considering upgrading to the 5S, but I'm pretty happy as I am.
At this point? All of your apps are in one ecosystem and there's no seamless way of transferring purchased apps over to another device/system. Until Google/Android figure out a way/service (in-store or over the cloud) to do so, then Apple people will stick with their iDevices. Then there's people like me who are long overdue for an upgrade. Really wish the Nexus 5 would be released sooner than later. All things pretty much equal, the leeway of being out of contract is huge.
What are you talking about? When I get a new Nexus device and log into my Gmail it downloads all my apps, bookmarks, contacts etc automatically. Seems easier than the apple way of doing things.
The iPhone 5C is dreck in my eyes. And it's too pricey...with the 2-year contract it should be $49 for the 16GB and $99 for the 32GB. I also don't care much for the colors and despise those cases with the circle cutouts. Dirt and grease and stuff is gonna get lodged in the edges of the circles. That said, the 5C probably isn't intended for folks like me...it's targeted more towards demographics such as high-school and college-age girls. It will fly off the shelves just like every other iPhone. As for the 5S, I must admit that I like the "use your fingerprint to authenticate iTunes purchases" feature. I hope the multiple-fingerprint support means that the 5S can support some sort of "multiple profile" support. A primary profile for me that has everything open, and a secondary profile for people such as a girlfriend or whatever that allows her to use the phone, but restricts access to certain features, settings, history, apps, etc.
But that's a silly argument. I don't think I've ever purchased an app. The savings alone is enough to switch now and start in a new "ecosystem" i just don't understand why anyone would still choose an apple for phones or tablets. I'll still stick with my ipod and imac. It's really not that hard to make the switch
seems like a lame upgrade for iPhone 5 users and not worth it. finger print scanner is just whatever. The best improvement has got to be the 64-bit architecture, it must mean that the iPhone 5S will get supported way longer than the iPhone 5 will be, but that only matters if you plan on keeping your phone for 4+ years. Most people upgrade anyway. There is no reason to upgrade if you have a 5 or even a 4S. Just wait till the 6.
That gold iPhone 5s really looks awesome in some of these pictures that I've seen. If I have to buy one to resell, it's probably going to be the gold one.
So is this phone worth upgrading for, or better yet, locking into another 2 year deal with AT&T. Samsung isn't taking over?
yes the 5s actually have pretty significant differences from the 5, but the 5c is pretty much the same as the 5 ($575 unlocked) except it uses cheaper parts, so i am not sure why anyone would pay the same money for a slightly watered down product.
i don't understand why people are saying there's a cheaper iphone. they haven't done anything different compared to the previous years! this time instead of cutting down on memory, they put a plastic case on previous year's model. that's all. 2012 - iphone 4 free, 4s $99, 5 $199 2013 - iphone 4s free, 5C* $99, 5S, $199 *5C = plastic iphone 5.
 You mean with a file called "SwoLy-D_fingerprint_file_secure.gif"? No, but seriously... I doubt they store it that easily to get stolen. OR, you probably could just access icloud.com and remove it with your password. Done.
