They were terrible, never explained some of those calls / flags. I've never liked Berman....but last night, my god. Between Berman, the ****ty California commercials on ESPN (termites...autotuned zoo....roaches.....) and the awful first half.....I was pissed. But thank you Texans! For shutting them up, and making me sleep with a smile.
I don't mind them doubting we can't win the SB because we haven't proven it yet. What bothers me is the level of enthusiasm for one team and not the other. I'd rather have mr. buck, who just seems bored by every sport. =)
EVERYONE who watches what's supposed to be neutral coverage. I can see Univisión maybe pulling for Mexico and ESPN pulling for USA in a soccer game, but this is the NFL and it shouldn't be the way it was last night. Don't you care, man?
They literally didn't know what happened or how to explain the penalty on the Chargers when Bullock was about to kick the FG on 4th down.
Viewers rip ESPN's Chris Berman <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Chris Berman has a lot to say and he's not going to let a game get in his way.</p>— Kent Somers (@kentsomers) <a href="https://twitter.com/kentsomers/statuses/377270419541483520">September 10, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Berman ruins the Home Run Derby every year for me. That "BACK BACK BACK BACK BACK" call he does is beyond atrocious.
That doesn't surprise me at all, he seemed so pissed about that penalty after bullocks field goal. Even when they brought the ex-ref up there to explain it he wasn't happy. Said something like "He didn't touch the guy" then after the ex-ref explained it he still wasn't happy and said something like it was a soft call. Glad that windbag isn't calling any more games he is awful. Felt like a JV game in the first quarter with him calling it.
what was that stupid line Dilfer kept using during replays when a defender went in for a tackle... "and he pulls his trigger" or was it "shoots his gun" Trent, that's not a good enough line to use 5 times in the same game.
I'm in the minority, but I don't agree. First off, the Texans played like crap for over half the game...the commentators should have talked highly of the chargers or negatively of the Texans. Also, people here were making much worse comments than either berman or Dilfer. In other words, they're just seeing and commentating on what everyone else is seeing. Not a big deal.
He was muttering over his words because he came in unprepared and you can hear it. He kept looking down at notes and his game charts and was listening for cues.
you guys must have never watched the second monday night game on the opening double header. its always like this
honestly the guy is used to doing his scripted highlights. this is on his bosses for thinking he is suited for the job
"GTFO Phillip, about getting pop by JJo" if the announcer was Paul Wall.
Neither do the Chargers. It's not like SD has more stars on their team. If Huey and Louie had been gushing over the Pats or Packers, that would be one thing, but there is no valid reason the announcers should be giving more love to the Chargers than the Texans. But the national media has always dissed Houston. I chalk it up to them simply not liking our city and culture.
i can't lie i thought rivers was on the way to revamping his career last night, that dude looks gun shy like schaub did at the end of last season.
