Just wondering, but did you become such a big Houston sports fan when you're living in AU? Not complaining though, because you're definitely one of the best fans we have
Schaub haters have been silenced.. Credit where credit is due.. Him and the Front 7 brought us back.. Foster was a bit off, so was our Line.. I believe in Schaub even though he may not be the flashiest, most statistically impressive player in the league
Exactly. That goes for the "Kubiak is way too conservative" thing as well. When were up, all we really need to do is run it and not take any risks and play conservatively. But when its necessary, Kubiak can be aggressive as any other coach out there. He will spread the ball out, air it out and take shots down the field. After rewatching the 2009/2010 games tapes many times on DVR and getting a feel for Kubiak's play-calling, I really was not surprised at all by that fake punt.
Thoughts on the game: Seriously, that gift start for the Bolts started them so welll, and they just got so much momentum after that play. And even right after the start of the 2nd Half...the Bolts caught the secondary for a huge play against JJo... And then the Texans went to the muddle huddle, and completely shred the Chargers secondary. Like they were confused. Schaub and the beast made huge plays. The Texans cashed on the first drive to get it to 28-14. On the second drive, dont forget that the Texans were gifted a really weird call about treating the Center on a FG as a defenseless player. That was a monstrous call, and immediately schaub exchanged 3 for 7(like a good team should)... The Defense had new life, but I didnt know if the offense would be able to march down the field like they did before, so i really was hoping for a miracle INT from our defense...only to have that happen and result in a game tying TD...wow..and after sweating a review and a flag for offensive personal foul; the texans defense was in business.. The front seven woke up and made the chargers go 3 and out twice...completely shutting the door on the first two plays, forcing rivers to throw in 3rd and long situations. And then the Texans chewed up clock, and got tremendous first downs as needed to come back for the stunning victory. We stole a victory from the Jaws of defeat. Im really proud of the team for not giving up and realizing how hard victories are to come in this league. Congrats to the Texans for a hard fought victory, and time to get the home crowd rowdy for a game in Reliant against the Titans. Go TEXANS...1-0 (journey to the meadowlands!!)
matt was effin great tonight but he needs to stop backpedaling and pass to his receivers. the passes come up short/behind and it usually a drop. not leading the receivers anywhere. i'm sure foster is annoyed by this but foster needs to worry about himself running the ball
There was a friend of mine who, after the tipped pick, said "Schaub is the worst QB in the league, I'd rather have Sanchez not joking. Better then that 60 year old noodle-armed ****." I really hope I'm able to make him eat crow tomorrow  This one feels good baby, can't wait until Sunday
And once the Chargers end up being a good team, it won't count because it was early in the year and not in December...
Great great come back win, Cushing came up clutch on defense, Andre being Andre and our rookie receiver showed up!
PS...Arian Foster had a really bad game in front of his home town SD...look for him to bounce back next week in a big way...There were so many big holes that he just didnt see or use...lack of practice cost him some yards... Also we have to give credit to the Bolts...their DL is just hard to run on...they had the 5th ranked rush defense. It was really up to Schaub and the offense to win threw the air, and they did!
I'm not the biggest fan of Schaub, i take him for what he is...but have to give him some props tonight. Actually showed some mobility and made some key throws on the run to keep drives alive
I was cursing Wade Phillips in the first half for having an entire off-season to adjust to offenses spreading his man coverage with RBs and gadget receivers and not doing a damn thing about it (still not truly convinced that he has), but then in the second half, Watt and Cushing took the game over, and all was forgiven. I am terrified to death that this is going to be a 2010-esque season again with QBs gashing this secondary for 300+ yards consistently, but I'm hoping that we can generate enough of a pass rush to negate that. Brice McCain might just be the worst cover corner in the NFL with the way Eddie Royal was abusing him, and if not for a timely drop by Royal on 3rd down, we might be talking about a different result tonight. However, while McCain was showing why he's incredibly replaceable, Brian Cushing was showing why he is incredibly IRREPLACEABLE. You could tell in the first half he was a bit tentative on the knee, and he was getting beat laterally by both Mathews and Woodhead, but once the second half came around, he was back in full form. He basically knew exactly what the Chargers were running every single play, and that interception was a result of him reading that play call from the huddle. I truly believe his injury last season had a far greater impact on this team than Schaub's the year before, and it showed in the second half tonight. It's so awesome to have #56 back in the middle of this defense. All in all, the first half was something to forget, but the second half was awe-inspiring. Great win tonight, and it's on to the Titans.
Perfect win. D shut them out when they needed to. Offense marched down the field and scored TDs in the red zone. Then closed the door with a solid drive to eat up the clock and kick the FG. Other than jeans two penalties I can't say anyone played poorly. Keo even looked competent. I mean damn no special teams screws ups at all! Great confidence builder on the road. For one week at least we fans should have nothing to whine about.
They showed that graphic early in the game that said Tate has had carries of 10 or more yards on something like 17% of his carries the last two years, the highest in the league. On 9 carries tonight, he had 2 runs over 10 yards (22%) plus a couple of 8 yard runs. I hope Arian just looked off because he missed all of preseason and that he'll get going again quickly. In the meantime, I'm fine with Tate carrying a bigger share of the load.
