I think this summer was more a Hell for NFL/NBA/MLB fans in Houston considering the move to the AL, a third horrible season (think David Carr Texans for nearly 500 games), and the worst game I've ever seen the Astros play. I'm looking forward to tonight.
Kubiak said something interesting to the San Diego media this week. During the offseason he told Matt Schaub to lose weight and gave him some drills to improve his footwork. The weight loss isn't surprising because Kubiak mentioned it during training camp and I've heard comments that Schaub looks thinner. But the footwork drills is something I hadn't heard before. I don't know the specifics of what Schaub did, but clearly Kubiak saw something he was doing wrong to order extra drills. I'm interested to see if there's an improvement with Schaub. Any QB coach will tell you, it all starts with the footwork. If Schaub has better footwork then that will make him a better QB.
we need to start strong and win the games we should win. i hope its a very boring MNF game..because its a texans blow out.
I'm going to need to get a nap in sometime today. If they hold kick off until the earlier game finishes, it's possible this game won't kick until 10 and end sometime after 1. I really don't know why the NFL does this.
They would only delay the kickoff for 10 minutes. If the game starts while the other game is going on it would be shown on ESPN2 and switch over to ESPN when the early game ends. Of course, ABC13 will have it without switching channels.
The late start is such a back handed compliment to the texans. Yes, it's nice to be on MNF but half the country will be going to bed and the other half that is still awake for a little while longer probably doesn't care much about watching the Chargers and Texans
Interesting. I think Schaub has looked different physically and seems to drop back better when passing. I think quick 3 step and 5 step drops with quick hitting routes is what we should do with this offense with some bootlegs thrown in. It seems like our routes take too long to develop sometimes but with Shaub's improved footwork and some new weapons, hopefully we will begin to be more dynamic this year.
This team's constant lack of clutchness has lowered my expectations.... being nervous a no longer a factor with me.
I said this before...the MNF package is likely only the 3rd or 4th best game of the week on paper. They get sloppy seconds after NBC and the CBS/FOX game of the week. And when they have a double header, the second game is likely the 5th or 6th best game.
