So you had Jesse already say he's going to get Walt where he really lives. Then he shows Walter a picture of the money and mentions about that the van he used had a GPS. That info could have been taken from Sal's men, he already knew one of them was missing. Simple question you would expect to ask is, so where is the money? From all the seasons we've seen, this is not the Walt we've come to know. He was also never about the money, it was arrogance and self-pride that drove him. Other than that, great episode. I guess the money is all he had to show for, so he's protective about it, but still he's been a lot worse situations and he's never really lost it.
Just absolutely amazing. This show will go down at the top! i really wish people would stop trying to guess every turn of the upcoming episodes and just let this greatness unfold. I almost wanted to break my screen when they cut it off and yea i wish they stopped the scene sooner with the shooting.
I am with you. I expected Walt to ask for GPS coordinates from Jesse, not confess nearly everything he did (over the phone!) in a rush to get to the money. Walt already knew there were people who could testify about the size and color of the barrels, the rental van, and the fact the van was dusty from being in the desert and that Walt had a shovel. Since Jesse knew Saul and had already attacked him, that info could be attained by Jesse by cornering Saul and beating it out of him. So I expected Walt to ask for coordinates since it was Jesse who brought up GPS in the first place. I don't buy White not at least asking about coordinates once Jesse brought up GPS. Still a great show and fast paced season.
That probably depends on how far you have watched. Episodes 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13 are (so far) my favorite episodes of the entire show.
Not much of a cliffhanger on this episode. I think its fair to say that Hank is going to get killed...the phone call to his wife telling her that he loves her will be the last words they ever have. I think Walt and Jesse both manage to escape this shootout, but I think they were trying to off Walt too, hence why they were shooting up the car so much. Walt and Jesse have a battle royal in the desert after they escape or they never see each other again after this. One or the other.
And while that was obvious, I almost think it was...too obvious. And Vince and his writing staff surely wouldn't be that "lazy" would they? If that's the case, then why have the shootout scene end when it did or show it at all? I almost suspect the shootout were "warning shots" and it turns into a hostage negotiation/kidnapping of Walt, Gomez, and Jesse.
This just shows that Walt is still a good person. He could have had all of these guys killed long ago, including his brother in law. But, he didn't do it. So, he isn't entirely evil, imo.
Great episode. It seems unlike the writers to so obviously have Hank killed, so I fully expect him to survive. Gomez is dead for sure.
Great episode. Hank/Jesse outsmarting Walt was a little predictable but I was still on the edge of my seat. Loved the scenes with Huell, Walt Jr. at the car wash, Lydia, Hank calling Marie.
My prediction is Gomez dies but Hank survives and gets blamed for his death from the DEA and an investigation on Hank as possible Heisenberg takes place.
I feel like Walt would have researched if the rental van had GPS on it or not... He could have easily bought a new one then destroyed it after the move.
I'm not buying that Walt would be as careless to not check out the van like that looking for if it had GPS when he knows it could likely be traced to where the money is later. Maybe Jesse would screw up something like that but not Walt. Question, did Walt even drive to the right location where the money is buried cause Jesse said it was where they cooked the first time? Walt also wouldn't bury money where they cooked the first time. No way. Whatever...they are now cutting corners with the writing to wrap it up. Walt must have taken a dumb pill or something. He was always one step ahead and now it's like he has no clue about anything all of a sudden. Maybe Walt hasn't spent enough time lately sitting in the chair by his pool staring into his thoughts lately? Would be nice if Hank and Marie died. I think Marie and Skylar's relationship won't survive this ordeal regardless.
No way. The Nazis have no reason for either to survive at this point, and there's nothing Walt can do at this point. They're both dead.
They need Walt alive to cook the blue meth again so it's surprising they are shooting up the van he is in.
This. My theory: 1. One of the DEA agents has to survive this cause I believe it's how Heisenberg's identity is revealed. Walt will be blamed for one of the DEA agency's death, thus a manhunt ensues. Remember, the DEA doesn't know about Hank & Gomez's investigation on Heisenberg. And I agree that Vince wants us all to think that Hank dies. So Hank lives, gives up all the details on Heisemberg to the DEA after Gomez's death and it causes Hank to lose his job ...Ozmandias tie in. He also has a downfall from this. 2. Walt & Jesse are held hostage by the Nazi's and forced to cook. Uncle Jack's bad habit about not wanting to wear a mask comes back to haunt him as Walt uses it to gas him and escape. But Jesse is still held hostage by the Nazi's 3. Walt, now on the run from a DEA manhunt, now forced to change his identity. Buys big gun and comes back to save Jesse. 4. Ozmandias tie in - Walt comes back to save Jesse but loses his life in the process. Jesse dies too, the money Walt worked so hard for remains in the desert, never to be found, thus it was all for nothing.
5. Skylar finds the Lotto/GPS coordinates on the refrigerator and figures it out since Walt never played the lottery. She takes some of the money and remaining family...moving away.
To nitpick your word choice a bit...being unwilling to kill a family member or close friend doesn't make you a good person. That just means you aren't an evil person. This is still the guy that has murdered multiple people, poisoned a child and manufactured thousands of pounds of a highly addictive, horrible drug that ruined a great many peoples' lives, I'm sure. He ain't a good person, he's just not gone full blown into satanic evil. And I think the people that are upset that Jesse fooled Walt are not clearly remembering some of Walt's missteps in the past. The guy is not infallible and has shown multiple times in the past that he can get severely rattled and make mistakes. A whole lot of how he has made it this far has been luck. He shot and killed Mike during a fit of rage and immediately regretted it. Had that shot he fired at Mike not been fatal and Mike had escaped, Walt would have one more deadly enemy out there to worry about. That was really stupid. As a side note, I find it hilarious that New Mexico apparently has no police patrolmen to speak of. How many times has there been an extended chase scene or scene where Walt or someone drives like a maniac down city streets for miles and miles and somehow no one ever gets on their tail? Doesn't really bother me. I get why they do it, it's just something I've noticed and thought was kind of funny. Must funnel all their funding into their DEA division.
