Hopefully our front seven can take pressure off the secondary, cause I'm nervous about that entire secondary
If Joseph plays as bad as he did towards the end of last season and in the preseason I can see the Texans cutting him after the season. I know Jackson has gotten leaps and bounds better than his rookie year but there's no excuse for him to have to cover both sides of the field like I saw him do a lot during the preseason cause Joseph was getting picked on. I hope it doesn't come to it but if he can't play up to his contract he needs to go.
CBs are only good as long as they can maintain their quickness. We shall see if last year was just due to injuries, but as seen my Nnamdis freefall, it's very possible that JJo has simply lost it due to age.
Nice little article on the difference between a zone blocking scheme and a man blocking scheme: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/08/29/durkins-football-101-zone-man-blocking-schemes/ Gives an example of the Texans running an inside zone play and an outside zone play.
Offense: (De)Andre 2.0- Hopkins Defense: Brooks Reed(gonna have a monster season); PS: JJ has stats similar to last year...
I'm down 7.14 points in my fantasy matchup. My opponent is done while I still have Owen Daniels left. He's projected to score 7.9 points. Don't let me down OD.
Don't expect very many penalties in the game Monday. Scott Green is the referee. Last year he and his crew called the fewest penalties per game than any other crew. Green's crew averaged 12.0 penalties (accepted and declined) per game last year. The next lowest crew averaged 13.2 penalties per game.
Australian Texans fan here... Texans 42 Chargers 7...was going to say 6 (2 FG), but I'll give Rivers the benefit of the doubt. Go Texans!!!
I have od and the texans defense left . But I'm down big after the Giants laid a goose egg in Dallas.
The offseason was hell. Dwight was a nice diversion, but unless you love baseball, Summers can be a real bummer for NFL/NBA fans. But now we have football, glorious football. The Romans had bread and circuses, and we have buffalo wings and the NFL. And now the Texans are back, the terrifying JJ Watt, the brutal Cushing, the noble Andre Johnson, the overly patient Uncle Bob, the predictable Kubiak, the goofy stadium roof policy, the overused Arian Foster, the exaggerated backup quarterback controversy, the inevitable postseason ass kicking that Denver or Boston is going to lay on us, and all is right with the world.
That's assuming we even make the postseaon. I think we will struggle to win the division this year, Colts will probably take it. I have to say, its kind of amazing to me how Texas can produce the best football players in the nation but our pro and college teams always seem to be a massive letdown. Mack Brown should have been fired years ago and with the LHN I now refuse to watch my my Longhorns play anymore, done with them. Kubiak should never have been hired to coach the Texans in the first place, but I gave him a chance. He's horrible, one of the worst coaches in the NFL. Our owner and GM have a blue blooded mentality, they want to avoid making moves that are media centric at all costs because they are afraid of success. I honestly root against our football teams now. We should have taken Peyton Manning when he said he wanted to play here, but we passed on him. Now, we are stuck with Schaub who is the Jeremy Lin of QB's in the NFL. I hope the Broncos kick our ass if we even make the postseason. We gave all of our money away to a RB who is not even going to be in the league in another 2 seasons.
Since I can't edit my posts, I forgot to add that this years Rockets team is the only thing that has me remotely interested in watching sports again. If not for the Howard pickup, I'd probably not watch any local H-Town sporting events this year.
Beat me to it. One local "fan" said he stopped watching the Rockets when Lin signed. I was like "you were never a fan."
agreed. instead, mr. clutch, is winning superbowls for denver. what kind of fan thinks this way? only on the internetz.
