I don't remember exactly what the first few episodes are like but they were good enough to get me hooked. The show has gotten significantly better since then as well. If you don't like anything about what you've seen so far then this show probably isn't for you.
I think I remember the first season being a bit slow. It gets better and better. My favorite show ever. I don't get the walking dead love. I tried to like it, but had to quit watching in the 2nd season
Why would you dismiss a show after only 2 episodes? I'm guessing you never watched The Wire because the first 2 episodes were boring but it gets way better a few episodes later. The Sopranos pilot was horrible to me but then it got better.
ehh, i dunno. the walking dead had me hooked from the first episode alone, so maybe i had high expectations.
It's one of those shows you need to watch every episode in order, or else the story won't make sense. Just like Mad Men or Boardwalk Empire, it's not for the casual viewer. Their viewership isn't really that big compared to shows like NCIS, where you can watch any random episode.
It's a solid show but I feel it's kind of overrated. The Shield, Sons of Anarchy <<<<<<< Breaking Bad <<<<<<<< The Sopranos, The Wire.
A lot of trolly responses, but real advice: The first season is the worst. Keep it up, and if you're not into it by season, 2 episode 1, then give up on it. Each season then gets progressively better (no spoilers but they're close to executing the TV equivalent of a walk off home run with this final stretch of episodes). I also didn't like the first season, and I know think that Breaking Bad is in the upper echelon of best TV dramas of all time. For the record, The Walking Dead is terrible.
The Shield was great, but Sons of Anarchy? Not a bad show, but maybe the third best drama currently airing on FX?
Seriously though, Episodes 6 and 7 of the first season (meeting Tuco) should put your "boring" claims to rest
It took me three time to get into the show. Watched the 1st episode didn't understand the hype, then two months later gave it another try still the second episode didn't blow me away. One week later i was bored as hell and decided to give it one more try, after the third episode i needed to know what happens next and ended catching up to the second half right before it started. i watched all seasons in three days.
I was just like you when starting it. Halfway through the first season, I was like what is the big deal? It's okay... Then by mid season two I was like, this is getting good. Then by mid to the end of season three I was like best show ever. Then season four I couldn't say anything because I was in shock of how good this show was. Especially that episode crawl space. Man... Season five has continued with awesomeness. Walking Dead is okay, but they need to find an end game soon. That thing should be done after this season or next. That governor dude was a complete joke of a character.
