Seems like a pretty weak call, though. Smith was only 1 step out of bounds and he was pushed not hit. But i guess a rule is a rule.
Agreed. A defensive player basically has to take extreme evasive action when an offensive player's foot is barely hovering out of bounds.
Nothing weak about it. That was an obvious call. You can't shove a QB when he's out of bounds. Been that way for 2-3 years now.
He hadnt even stepped out before getting pushed. If he woulda tight roped the sideline for 5 more yds they woulda been in fg position. These guys are running full speed making plays, you have to let that play go if you're the ref.
I think last year he had a great year. He was pretty much unstoppable, took his team to the superbowl. Of course he plays on a great team though but still...this is his 3rd year I think though. I think RG3 was the best of the bunch. If only he had stayed healthy.
They should allow contact in that thick white boundary around the field to allow players to follow through on a play.
I'm sure RG3, Wilson, Luck, or most other "good" QB can take this 49ers team to the Super Bowl. They have everything and everyone on this team. Its just not fair.
Yeah they are pretty stacked. They better win it this year or next though or I'm sure there will be some cap issues coming up.
