I'm wondering when's the last time you bought REAL polo, lately, and if you think it is it still worth the money?

For me, while I am certainly not a label w****, I do feel at least 1 polo shirt in your wardrobe can be worth the money, for the cool factor; more than 1, however, makes you look silly. And more than 1 polo garment on you at any given time is like dressing up like a clown.

I don't mind paying 89.50 for this, if it is the ONLY polo I have, that is:

I just bought a bunch of clearance Polo from their website. I don't really do the whole "But at full retail" thing. Unless I absolutely have to. Also, Marshall's and TJ Maxx have a bunch of Polo stuff. $30 for their classic polo, $45 or $50 for their dress shirts I believe. You guys gotta be smart and Dress for Less (ross)

I have 6-7 that I got on sale from Marshall's - they fit me pretty well, the patterns/colors are nice enough, and they haven't shrunk too much in the wash. They're a good option for summer work wear, where I'm hesitant to wear anything too nice due to my remarkable ability to accumulate pen ink stains.

That being said, the sizing on the different shirts is terribly inconsistent. I have some Ls that are on the fitted side and some Ms that are on the large side. That means I have to try everything on, and thus I'm not inclined to buy anything off their website.

yeah, you can buy clearance polo, but it's usually the polo clown-ware line. I've rarely seen classic polo on sell.

I used to buy polo stuff, but I realized their clothes suck. Material is not particularly comfortable and it's usually pretty boring. I don't bother with them anymore.

I started buying my good shirts from a little shop in Tribeca. Hand made, unbelievably comfortable and fitted. And it's the same price as a standard polo.

I still rock the Polo T-shirts I have from time to time. Haven't actually bought any lately, though.

I'm big and tall; and they're one of the name brands that makes a full array of clothing in my size. They also still retain brand status because with the increase in volume of similarly styled clothing, you're more likely to have at least one button or sleeve rip that can deter you from buying off brand. I never understood why all the other kids could wear it but not me; until I started working and buying my own clothes with more than a $100 budget for a whole year. The upside is that they overproduce; which forces them to drastically markdown around back to school time, have their overstock re-sold to discount stores, and caused the loss of their cache status on premium youth and casual brands to the benefit of additional labels and more product diversity.

Its all about the custom shirts from J Hilburn. You will never want to buy a shirt that isnt custom tailored. You can customize everything about it.

I remember that Chaps brand that sunk like a rock. You looked like you were at a corporate retreat for a company called "Chaps."

There seem to be a lot of overseas tailors who offered similar customization online for a little less.
